・・・で始まる「Working Day And Night」
この曲は、1979年、「Off the Wall」をリリースされて以来、
下記ツアーのセットリストからみてもわかるように
マイケルが本当に大事にしていた曲だという事がわかります。
そして、約20年の歳月を経て
Slave To The Rhythmを 1998～99年ごろに録音、
結局「Invincible」のアウトテイクとなるのですが。。
この二つの曲は、Working Day And Nightは♂男の側・・・
Slave To The Rhythmは♀女の側・・・
生活に忙殺される人間・・男女の機微を鋭く描いて
呼応し合っていると感じます
今日は、この二曲を訳し、改めて味わってみたいと思います。

ところで・・・
光り輝く衣装の上にこの曲の時だけ、
マイケルは、、わざわざ「青いパンツ」を履いて登場しますよね
ちょっと、ヘンテコ・・奇妙だなと思っていました
でも・・これにも、意味があるのではないかと
いわゆる・・ブルーカラーBlue-collarを表しているのではないかしら？
「3K」（きつい・汚い・危険）といわれた主に肉体労働をする職業従事者は、
汚れが目立たないような「青系の制服・作業服」を着用します。
マイケルが着ているのは、風雨を凌げるような生地で、
脇にちょっとした道具をいれるパッチポケットのついた作業パンツ・・・？
例えば、こんな仕事の・・ ジョーパパも鉄鋼関係の工場労働者として、大家族ジャクソンファミリーを
養っていましたが・・
マイケルも、フルマラソンより体力を消耗するといわれるステージで
大量の汗を流していましたね

↑この諺の引用ではないかと
「scratch」は「ひっかく」で、「痒い所を掻く」という意味にも派生。
1997年に「痛み」と「痒み」は明確に別の仕組みで引き起こされている事が発見され証明されたが、それまでは「痒みという感覚は、弱い痛みである」とされ、痛覚神経が反応して起きると考えられていた。。。（この曲は1979年、「Off the Wall」に収められた曲）
この♂男子は・・・
働かされ過ぎ、ハニーの愛が欠乏して「痒み」どころか「痛み」を感じていますよ。。
