④Former Economic Security Minister(前 経済安全保障大臣)、 Current Chairman of the LDP's Policy Research Council(政調会長) Kobayashi Takayuki got 59.
⑤The party's former Secretary-General (事務総長)Motegi Toshimitsu got 49.
Takaichi and Koizumi then went head-to-head in a runoff with Takaichi emerging victorious with 185 votes, to Koizumi's 156.

She first entered politics in 1993as a Lower House member .
