Today two of the guests asked me what is the most culture shock during my stay in Japan, I felt that actually is not so different between Taiwan and Japan, but the most surprising thing is about the envelope. In Taiwan or in Chinese culture, basically we use red envelope as a sign of congratulation or to celebrate something happy, on the contrary, Japan use white envelope to give a celebrate, which was really different. Because in Taiwan we use the white envelope only when someone is dead, which is totally different from Japanese culture! It is really interesting that we can learn and compare different culture together, I really love it.
