Today was my first shift in Wa English Cafe. I taught a beginner`s class, and it was quite fun to speak with them.
First, we introduced ourselves(including our names, nationality, where do we live), and then we talked about our interests. While talking, I noticed that we share a lot of interested, like watching old movies, travel around, reading books, and ect.
During the conversation, I learned a lot of new information about Japan. When I told my guests that I went to Uji for a trip today because I am interested in `Genji Monogatari`, she introudced me to manga, and told me it was the easier version of me to read the book. Also, when I asked other student where I could go next, he told me a lot of great tourist sights I could go.
During the conversation, I taught them some new English words so that they could descrive their works. (For example, human resources department, general deparment). Also I tried to help them come up with the words that they did not know.
It was a great experience, and I am looking forward to meet them in other classes, too.
