Yesterday was the beginner's lessons in the afternoon.
Using the text book of Cambridge Essential Grammar, the students and I also have
conversations about our ordinary lives, news, and other topics too.
昨日は午後から、初級のマンツーマンレッスンが続けて入ってました
ケンブリッジのグラマーテキストを使って文法を学びながら、同時に生徒さんと
色々な話題に英語で触れています
For instance, their plans for the summer, about work, the time with children etc.
I think it is important that you can explain what you do for living,
since very often people ask when meeting for the first time:
"What do you do?"
例えばこの夏の予定、仕事について、子どもとの時間など
初対面の時、多くの人が「お仕事は何をされてますか？」という質問になるので
普段何をやっているかを説明できると良いですね
So here you go. Please be ready for this answer.
"I am a secretary / nurse / office worker / therapist." etc.
There are various kinds of occupations, and what is yours?
仕事についてスムーズに話せるように、練習しておくのをお勧めします
「私は秘書をやっています。看護師 / 会社員 / セラピストです」等のように・・・
様々な職業がある中で、あなたの職種はどんなものでしょうか？
Also, you can say:
"I work for --- company."
"I'm in the division of ---."
"I have been working in this company for --- years."
"I've been in this line of work for --- years."
It becomes more specific and in detail, by adding the name of the company, division,
and how long (length) you are at this job.
Furthermore, your passion to the work can be explained and that will
certainly make a story more interesting and persuading.
また、
「～会社に勤めています」
「私は～部署におります」
「この会社で～年、働いています」
「この仕事を担当してから～年になります」
のように会社名や部署・課、勤続年数などを相手に伝えると
より具体的で詳しい情報になりますね
さらに、あなたが仕事への情熱ややりがいを感じていたら
ぜひそれも会話の中に入れて
話が盛り上がって、説得力が増すことでしょう
In the conversation with the people of first encounter, you may be a little nervous
but don't worry. Most people are!
Hence, although it will be nicer if the grammar is correct, more importantly
you'd better be flexible in talk as it flows.
