今日は、とてもいい天気でした。
太陽も久しぶりに顔を出してくれて、外の空気も新鮮でした。
ドライブに行くのに最高の日だったので、出かけました。
Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the air was crisp. It was a beautiful day to go for a drive, so I did.
グランド・ヘーブンという小さな町に行きましたが、ミシガン湖のそばにある、とてもきれいな砂浜で有名な町です。
夏になると、観光客でいっぱいになります。
I drove up to a town called Grand Haven. It is along the Lake Michigan shoreline, and it is known for its beautiful beaches. In the summer, it becomes very crowded with out-of-towners who come to vacation there.
ドライブから帰ってきてから、ちょっと家の掃除をしました。子供たちは家を散らかすのが得意です。
掃除が終わってから、ピアノを弾くことにしました。
When I got home, I had to clean the house because my kids love to make a big mess everyday! But after things were clean, I sat down and spent some time playing the piano.
私はピアノを弾くのが大好きです。
その時の自分の気分に合わせて、クラシック、ポピュラーから、ラグタイムまで、いろいろなジャンルの音楽を弾くのが好きです。
I love playing the piano. I play all different kinds of music from classical to contemporary, to rag time, etc., etc., dependin on what kind of mood I'm in.
ピアノは私の一部みたいです。
気分転換にもなります。弾くときは、自分の気持ちに素直になれます。そして、言葉では表現できないことをピアノを通して表すことができます。
It is a part of who I am, and it is also a release. When I play, I can be true to my inner emotions, and I can express what I can never put into words.
話はぜんぜん変わりますが、最近E.E.Cummingsという作家の詩を読んでいます。昔読んだことがありましたが、彼の詩の美しさを忘れていました。実は、”In Her Shoes"という映画を最近みて、その映画のなかで彼の詩が出てきました。下に、その好きな詩の一部を書きます。
Completely changing the subject, I recently came across some poetry by E.E.Cummings. Actually, I watched the movie, "In Her Shoes" and they read some of his poetry in the movie. I had forgotten how beautiful some of his poems were. Here is a part of one I really like:
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
これはだれも知らない秘密
the root of the root, and the bud of the bud
根の根、つぼみのつぼみ
The sky of sky of the tree called life;
人生と呼ばれている木の空の空；
which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide
魂が望むよりも、知性も隠せないほど、高く伸びる
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
これが星達を離れさせている不思議さ
I carry your heart. ( I carry it in my heart).
あなたの心を持つ。（私の心の中で）。

私は毎日、長女を幼稚園に送っているのですが、雪道の運転は嫌いです！
でも、ひょっとしたら、スキーにはこの雪はいいかも？
できたら、いつかスキーに行きたいと思っています。
かき揚げには玉ねぎ、にんじん、ごぼう、ととうもろこしをいれました。たれに大根おろしと生姜をいれました。
食べる事が大好きな友達が何人かいます。
カプチーノとぴったりです！私はとても幸せでした。
私はアメフトはあんまり好きではありませんが、せっかくの機会ですので、
プレゼントにくれました。
料理好きの私にとっては、とてもうれしかったです！

この島は、オランダとフランスの両方の領土です。とっても美しい島です！真っ白な砂浜、大きくて真っ赤なハイビスカスの花、そして、真っ青で透き通っている海。
