Today is "Hot Cake Day" here in Japanホットケーキ

Well, I read before that the word "Hot Cake" is not worldwide but used in some areas, including Japan. Is that so?

Some say hot cakes are part of pancakes, while others say they're different.

As I wrote the other day, I've been into "Insider Food" lately.

I've never heard of or been to the two Japanese pancake stores the videos introduce, so I'm a bit surprised to find that they seem to be popular in America. It's not too much to say that bobas already went out of style here, but boba-smothered souffle pancakes look good, don't they?

The fluffy pancakes remind me of those of "A Happy Pancake" somehow. I've been to their locations only a few times, though.

I went to their Ginza locationin 2019 and had their limited Hojicha Tiramisu Pancakes.

Fluffy soft pancakes that make us feel happy as the name suggests.

I forget whether the pancakes were exclusively served at the Ginza location or available at all the locations for a limited time.

I wasn't chabby at the time, but didn't look good in photos after all. And I remember I went there before the COVID-19 spead. So I didn't wear a mask on a daily basis then. I gained a lot of weight amid the pandemic...

Pour hojicha syrup over pancakes as you like.

I went to their Omotesando location with one of my friends in 2017, and this was my first time.

It was an underground location. Some of the underground eateries and cafes are stuffy and gloomy, but this location had a nice cozy atmosphere and I felt relaxed.

Beautiful sceneries were shown on the big screen.

I had the left standard item and my friend had the right one served with bananas.

Speaking of hotcakes...

I was in my late 20s at the time. I remember their Ginza location was stylish and sophisticated.

I'd like to have their ricotta hotcakes again sometimeホットケーキ They must sell like hot cakes.

I've been to their Yokohama location before, and tried Flat White Latte.

Yeah, I remember I took a one-day trip to Kyoto by myself in February, 2020, when the coronavirus started to spread here in Japan, and that there were much fewer tourists and local people than usual. We were not told to wear masks yet.
