It's been a while...

…since I played a complete story-based game walking away from the screen with a feeling of achievement and satisfaction. I don’t really have time for this anymore but last week I sat down with my family to share some silly excitement about a game recommended to us by a friend. Lego City Undercover isn’t as trivial and childish as it may sound. There’s enough humour and adventure for both kids and adults to keep you hooked. If you feel like staying at home on one of those cold windy days and diving into a world of fun, this one will do the trick. Enjoy engaging missions as an undercover agent on a wild quest to catch a notorious criminal that causes havoc in the city. Climb buildings, learn kung-fu, investigate museums for secrets, ride pigs on a farm, try the latest technology at a space centre and much more!

If you’re not a gaming type you can still enjoy watching cutscenes from the game on YouTube and brush up on your English! There’s lots of innocent fun to be had in contrast to all bad news we’re getting on TV and social media these days.

Just around the corner

Winter hasn’t decided yet how long it’s going to stay. Just when it started to warm up, the first blooms started to appear and thousands of Tokyo Marathon runners came out wearing shorts and T-shirts, wham, we got covered in snow again! The weather’s as treacherous as can be these days. I hope you keep yourself warm and healthy before a real spring comes knocking at your door 😊

It's almost time ...

F1's back! Woohoo!

After what feels like forever, the 2024 F1 season is about to start with the first race weekend in Bahrain 

The off-season was unusually exciting with drama and shock news, and the testing for the new cars last week was intriguing. A new car concept from Red Bull shows they're not afraid to take a gamble and innovate mid-way through the current era of car regulations.

This could be the only chance for other teams to catch up with last year's champions Red Bull.

If they can't, ... well the off-season may have been the most exciting part of the 2024 season. I'm not prepared to hear the Dutch national anthem at every race again

The Roastery

I always liked coffee shops for studying, Internet browsing or relaxing with a book. There are places, however, that offer more than a pause during a busy day, surrounded by coffee aroma and mellow sounds. The other day, while having a stroll along Meguro River I came across a Starbucks roastery. It quickly caught my attention and I hurried to check it out. It felt more like a modern art museum with its extravagant interiors and state-of-the-art heavy machinery. Quite a sight to behold! It offered a selection of mouth-watering food from various sandwiches and veggie quiche to freshly roasted coffee beverages. As you might expect, coffee and food come at quite hefty prices but it’s worth your while when you’re on your special day out and feel like having a refreshing break.
