After weeks of scorching sun came a moment of relief. We had a rainy night this week and a bit of a change of scenery. For one day, vast cloudless skies gave way to a dramatic panorama filled with shapes and colours - a painter’s dream.
Tonight around 11pm Japan time (10AM EST in the US on July 26), US Congress will hold a hearing on UAP.
What are UAPs? They seem to be basically the same as UFOs. The Pentagon has started to use UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) instead of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object), because the term UFO was often ridiculed and not taken seriously.
During the hearing tonight, US lawmakers will hear from several witnesses and whistleblowers claiming the existence of craft of non-human origins being kept hidden by the U.S. Government.
The lead witness is perhaps David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence officer who claims to have been involved with various UAP programs. He will be also be joined by former U.S. Navy commander David Fravor and former U.S. Navy pilot Ryan graves who both claim to have encountered UAPs.
Whether or not you believe in UAPs, this is sure to be a somewhat historic hearing for the U.S. And even if it turns out to be a hoax of somekind it still alludes to some kind of conflict between the various parts of the US government (which I happend to find quite interesting!).
Anyway, I know what I'm doing tonight!

What images spring to your mind when you think of Japanese summer? Some of us probably picture sunny skies, beaches of Okinawa, flower beds, picnics in the park, and think of hot weather. There is however one thing that is always indicative of this season in Japan. It’s all around us when we go out and is often so loud in large numbers that it drowns out the sounds of the traffic nearby. Cicadas have been making their presence known for almost 2 weeks now and will now signal the continuation and the end of the summer season.
This one has just seen the light of day for the first time.

I've been kind of addicted to tracking random flights around the world using flightradar24.com recently. Don't ask me why. Perhaps there's something to spying on random flights around the world. Perhaps it's because you never know what you might find.
Take this picture for example.
I was tracking a NATO flight (NATO02) as it left the EU (Belgium I think), and as it headed north west over the North Sea towards the UK and Iceland it was suddenly accompanied by a US Air Force flight (red plane shown). Around about the same time an Eurofighter jet (the red circle) left an airforce base in Scotland and seemed to be heading to wards the NATO and US AF flight. A few mintues later the NATO flight just completely vanished from the radar and the US AF airplane turned around and started backtracking itself. A few moments after taking this screen shot the Eurofighter jet also vanished around the same spot as the NATO flight did ... Weird.
Perhaps I've been watching too many conspiracy videos on YouTube lately and I need to get back to doing something productive.
Anyway, I highly recommend playing around with FlightRadar24.com for a bit. If anything it's quite shocking to see just how many aircraft are in the air at any one time.
