Kit Kat!

(I hate to talk about food yet again, but here we go!)

Kit Kats; there's so many different flavours, aren't there? Usually I don't go for them (classic is best!) but today I thought, "What the heck,..." and bought this one.

Honesly, I thought the Cookies & Cream Kit Kat would have a more appealing colour than grey, but it tastes better than it looks (especially if you pop it into the freezer for 10 minutes).

Did you know that Kit Kats were created by Rowntree's in York, England? Rowntree's is a British confectionary maker that first created the Kit Kat in 1935.

Kit Kats began to be exported to places like Canada and Australia in the 1940's and eventually made it to Japan in the early 70's after Rowntree's made a distribution deal with Fujiya.

Sadly, Rowntree's was acquired by the Swiss food company Nestlé (Booo!) in the late 80's but this has helped the Kit Kat brand become one of the world's most loved chocolate brands.

A dark chocolate variant originally appeared after World War 2 due to milk rationing, but the first ever flavoured variant was orange (very nice!) and appeared in the UK in 1996, shortly followed by mint (also very nice!), and caramel flavours.

Since then there have been over 300 flavours of Kit Kats with most of them coming from Japan.

So, what's your favourite flavour of Kit Kat? And perhaps more importantly what flavour of Kit Kat would you like to see next?

I'm personally hoping to see a custard and rhubarb flavour ラブ
