We have entered the time this winter when cold feels more real than in the previous months. During days like these I often opt to cut down on outdoor exercise because of how much longer it takes to warm up and for fear of catching a cold. Instead I pull on a snug sweater, slip on a light down jacket and, camera in hand, take long walks exploring neighborhoods. Walking helps to take your mind off things, keep the blood flowing and, last but not least, reflect on and even appreciate characteristics of the world built of steel, concrete and asphalt .
