Deuteronomy 4 (KJV)
25)When thou beget children and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:
26)I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
27)And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations , and ye shall be left few LORD in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
28)And the LORD there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29)But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30)When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
31)(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covernant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
申命記４章
25）あなたが子を生み、孫を得、あなたがたがその地に永住し、堕落して、何かの形に刻んだ像を造り、あなたの神、主の目の前に悪を行い、御怒りを買うようなことがあれば、
26）私は、きょう、あなたがたに対して、天と地とを証人に立てる。あなたがたは、ヨルダンを渡って、所有しようとしているその土地から、たちまちにして滅びうせる。そこで長く生きるどころか、すっかり根絶やしにされるだろう。
27）主はあなたがたを国々の民の中に散らされる。しかし、ごくわずかな者たちが、主の追いやる国々の中に残される。
28）あなたがたはそこで、人間の手で造った、見ることも、聞くこともせず、食べることも、かぐこともしない木や石の神々に仕える。
29）そこから、あなたがたは、あなたの神、主を慕い求め、主に会う。あなたが、心を尽くし、精神を尽くして切に求めるようになるからである。
30）あなたの苦しみのうちにあって、これらすべてのことが後の日に、あなたに臨むなら、あなたは、あなたの神、主に立ち返り、御声に聞き従うのである。
31）あなたの神、主は、あわれみ深い神であるから、あなたを捨てず、あなたを滅ぼさず、あなたの先祖たちに誓った契約を忘れない。
