アモス書９章
８）見よ。神である主の目が、罪を犯した王国に向けられている。わたしはこれを地の面から根絶やしにする。しかし、わたしはヤコブの家を、全く根絶やしにはしない。
―主のみ告げ。―
９）見よ。わたしは命じて、ふるいにかけるように、すべての国々の間でイスラエルの家をふるい、一つの石ころも世に落とさない。
10）わたしの民の中の罪人はみな、剣で死ぬ。彼らは『わざわいは私たちに近づかない。私たちまでには及ばない。』と言っている。
Amos 9
8) Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.
9) For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
10) All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
ルカ22章
31）シモン、シモン。見なさい。サタンが、あなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って聞き届けられました。
32）しかし、わたしは、あなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈りました。だからあなたは、立ち直ったら、兄弟たちを力づけてやりなさい。
Luke 22
31)And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
32)But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

14）わたし（イエス）は彼らにあなた（父）のみことばを与えました。しかし、世は彼らをにくみました。わたしがこの世のものでないように、彼らもこの世のものでないからです。
15）彼らをこの世から取り去ってくださるようにというのではなく、悪い者から守ってくださるようにお願いします。
John 17
14)I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
15)I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
