I met with Mika for a catch up down at the park kiosk yesterday afternoon. She had rung earlier for a chat and coffee was mentioned. Great minds think a like! We both walked, except her house is much closer to the park than mine, so she was waiting for me when I arrived.
She had brought with her, a bunch of hydrangeas from her garden. They were for me. A big smile beamed across my face. They are beautiful and in perfect condition. There are four flowers; two pink, one purple and one blue.
The hydrangeas that I planted are suffering from the hot weather that we have had of late and are all brown. Thankfully the weather has cooled off now and we have had a bit of rain. The day of Toby's formal was very hot and Mika was worrying about my hydrangeas and sent me a message that they would need water. When she came later that day for a champagne and strawberries to celebrate, she watered them for me. I had been running from one job to the next that day and was so glad of her care and thoughtfulness.
I thank and praise God for trustworthy friends. Another reminder to me of his love, generosity and faithfulness.
Verse for the day:
A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.
