This past week has been amazing. God is working out his purposes and it is all an adventure of trust!!
My son began his year 12 major work art project, at the beginning of 2014. The painting, a concept of his Nanna and the emotions she faced living in a world of dementia. This year, on Easter Sunday, Nanna passed away aged 87. Toby now faced completing his art work with the added emotion of the grief and loss of this precious person in his life.
Last week I approached my employer, with a proposal of exhibiting the work. I had only just picked up the huge painting with Mika's car and help, from his school art room that week. The idea has been received with positive embrace and the painting is hung in the foyer of my work place.
Not only have I been blessed with seeing this beautiful art work of my mother in law painted by my son each time I go to work but also, my father in law who lives interstate, far away from where I live, happened to be visiting his sister over this last week. His sister lives an hour away. My son Maddis was able to pick him up and bring him to see the work.
I had lots to do on Saturday to get the foyer ready for my father in laws visit. My day started at the coffee shop, with the women I usually walk with, including Janet. I gave them the news that had transpired and how my day was planned. A ten minute coffee and chat and then I had to be on my way.
Whilst I was on my errands involving picking up a floral tribute that I had organised from family, I received a text from Janet, that she wanted to come and provide me with moral support. She had been hanging out clothes at the washing line and had a sense of urgency to come and support me. I knew God had organised this.
When Dad arrived, the foyer looked lovely with the flowers on a little table lined with paper bark from my friend Jane's tree and a book on language that my mother in law had written together with a bound book on the story of her life; all enhancing the beautiful portrait of her.
Dad was of course very emotional. Janet took some lovely photos which wouldn't of happened if she wasn't there. I am so thankful to God for his faithfulness, as I continue to trust him day to day.
