True to his word, the salesman rang at 9am on the 17th of March, to say that there was a possible Mirage available. It was the next model up with extra features. There was a question about the girl who had bought it receiving finance and if it was rejected by chance, the car was mine. I asked when I would know and he replied 4pm that same afternoon. The price was very good, $600 less than the price Ian had given me. Now I had to wait.
Annette, my hairdresser arrived as I was on the phone. Luxury.. I was getting my hair done. We always have a nice time. Looking over my garden from the top balcony she was impressed to see the morning, noon and night she had given me growing well and gave suggestions for other plants that could be use to build the layers.
My brother Nigel rang, with my hair in foils I chatted to him, filling him in in the details of my car hunting.
Next, Ian from the car dealers rang retuning a call from the previous day, where I gave him the opportunity to revisit his quote. I thanked him for all the effort he had put into selling me a car and enlightened him on the details of the two quotes I had in the pipeline. On hearing about my efforts, his attitude changed, recoiling he said "i cant help you any more" and hung up; disappointing!
Annette finished my hair at around 1pm. I was very happy although distracted with thoughts of buying a car.
By 4pm I still had not heard from the dealer about the girls finance. I waited a little longer and then called. It had been approved. Now I wondered if Lee-Annes offer was still valid. I was a bit nervous but also reminding myself that God was directing my path. I made another phone call, to a dealer further a field. It was uneventful, not coming anywhere near the quotes given by Ian or Lee-Anne. My car dealing was done for the day and I would begin again in the morning.
To be continued...
