It has been little while since I have written about my flowers. Since my last post I have been busy refreshing the flowers, to enhance the portrait of my mother in law. Mika has been very kind, as the flowers came from her garden and she has put the arrangements together for me. The painting is back at home now.
Last Thursday was my birthday. I woke up early and unwrapped the presents various friends and family had given to me. That was fun.
Then, I woke the boys, to remind them to get up for breakfast. Mika had planned a birthday breakfast with friends at a local cafe. They are very slow to get up in the mornings but I lay down on Maddis's bed and he gave me a birthday back tickle. While I was enjoying the tickle, Toby came in with a beautiful bunch of flowers. Soft, white peonies's mixed with yellow roses that had been coloured with a red dye. I was so happy. They were beautiful and still are! I was also given a box of chocolates and a Christmas card that Toby had turned into a birthday card. I didn't even notice until he pointed it out and I had a little chuckle. The card was written on behalf of my other two children as well. I received phone calls from them through out the day, as well as from my brothers and sisters. That was very special.
I met my friends for breakfast. The boys joined us as well(I loved this). Jenny had also bought me some lovely pink lilies that are all open now and putting on a beautiful show. Mika gave me a single gardenia from her garden which smelt beautiful. God is faithful!!
I received lots of other special gifts as well, including hair clips, a bracelet, some yummy preserves and a necklace.
I also had a ride over the bridge in Terry's blue convertible, which is a nice memory.
The boys and I visited the zoo and watched a movie. I had a very special birthday this year.
I thank and praise my God for loving friends and family. As I journey on in my faith, I am coming to the understanding, that happiness in life is not guaranteed. Real peace and joy comes when I trust and obey my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and follow the example he has set for me.
