Today was special. Jenny organised an outing including Carol. Mika and I. Jen drove. Our destination was close to the city and it was a display of some amazing sculpture.
On our arrival, we were caffeine deprived, so our first stop was a cafe. Being a week day, it was quiet and there were plenty of cafes to choose from. Alfresco style, we enjoyed coffee and cake overlooking a beautiful bay.
Coffee done, we began our seaside walk. Carol purchased a information booklet and as we came across various sculptures she enlightened us on the meaning of the art and the materials used etc. She said that there would be a test at lunch time and she hoped we were all paying attention. I asked Mika what the word for teacher was in Japanese and she told me "Sensei". So I started calling Carol sensei. I said I wanted to do well in the test and was trying to be the sensei's favourite!! We giggled. Thankfully Carol forgot about testing our knowledge when we began eating lunch. She was way too busy eating her fish and chips and drinking her glass of wine.
