Recently I have had a vision of my soul; for some time I have been an unclothed seed. Only a little bit of food to keep me alive. The seed of my soul has been stripped naked from the pain of life experience. Now however, I feel as if as if my nakedness has been clothed with a coat. It has being nourished and watered over the past months by Gods love for me and his word, together with the love of family and friends, creation, church, writing this blog and doing something fun, like the ukulele.
In time, as my soul gains strength, it will germinate. It is not ready yet though. To germinate, some seeds have to a experience painful conditions, like the heat from a bushfire or the extreme cold. The seedling is fragile and delicate, but at the same time it has to be very strong, to push through the soil and find the sunlight. I am gently being prepared for this.
In time, as my soul gains strength, it will germinate a little shoot that will push through the seed coat, finding its path through the stresses and strains of life. This struggle I know, has purpose, producing flowers of wisdom, faithfulness, understanding and knowledge. Each flower has its own beautiful colour and design, full of sweet smelling perfume. When these flowers are fertilised, an exotic fruit called love begins to develop. It is agape love. A reflection of Gods love for mankind. When it is ripe, it blesses all those who eat of it. For love is patient and kind, it does not envy or boast. It is not proud or rude, it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always trusts, it always hopes, it always perseveres, it never gives up. Love never fails.
Taste and see that the Lord is good. His Love endures forever.
