Let It Be
( Hina, and her invincible explorers. Episode 12 )
“Life is really surprisingly full of unexpected encounters. When I first met Tai-Pi-Yuan, how could I expect him to have such excellent talent of writing lyrics and playing any instruments? Especially base guitar, there are few good base players among amateurs. And Shizuku’s vocal is still rough but powerful to make my tune and Tai-Pi-Yuan’s lyrics alive. It was rewarding work for us to instruct the girls’ band Shizuku leads.”
Said Bricky Kumamoto, while Hina was playing on drum set with Ai jumpy and still bit hostile to Bricky.
Anyway Shizuku’s girls’ band made extraordinary success in their school festival with the help of Bricky and Tai-Pi-Yuan.
Two years had passed since Bricky first appeared in their town. To high school, to junior high school, and to elementary school, every young fellow of us had grown-up but basic nature changed little.
Before leaving town rather abruptly as usual, Bricky told Hina in unusually serious mood.
“This might be my last visit here. So I want to tell you my story. I don’t know who I am and what I have been doing before I woke up with the guitar in my right hand. But I had an image. The same image every night. I’m floating on waves, missing someone every night. Someone I want to be safe. Though my consciousness is almost fading, I feel little pain in my right hand to find my grasping an empty tin can. My last wish was that the waves will send my heart in this tin can to the ones I miss. I feel as if I have been making quest for my lost heart in the tin can and my quest is enough.”
Contrary to his known character, Tai-Pi-Yuan answered Hina’s question with significant eyes.
“I think and hope that Bricky has been together with the ones he wants to be safe because he looked happy and peaceful, a bit lonely all the time. But I guess he might be afraid of admitting that their hearts have been already together, not in the past days. ….I wish you to have let him believe that each of us can be floating on and sharing this same time together to meet and to remember again and again. You, and we all are keeping on sharing this same time.”
Hina was surprised at Kana’s get weeping, who is really so patient never to mention sweet and painful names in her memory.

「世の中って、思いがけない出会いが一杯でビックリするな。初めてタイー、ピー、エンに会った時、あいつがあんなに歌詞が書けて何でも楽器が弾けるなんて思ってもみなかったな。特にベースね。アマチュアで、ベースがちゃんと弾ける人は少ないからね。シズクの声は粗削りだけど迫力があって、あの声で、俺の作った曲とタイ、ピー、エンが書いた詞に命を吹き込んでくれたよ。シズクがリーダーのガールズ、バンドに教えるのは、俺にも遣り甲斐があったよ。」
そうブリッキー熊本は言いました、傍らではヒナがドラムで遊んでいて、まだブリッキーには邪険なアイがその周りを飛び跳ねていました。
とにもかくにも、シズクをリーダーとするガールズ、バンドは、ブリッキー熊本とタイ、ピー、エンに助けられて、学園祭で稀に見る大成功を収めました。
ブリッキーがこの町に現れて、もう二年が経っていました。高校へ、中学へ、小学校へと、私達の若い仲間達は夫々成長していましたが、素の性格はそう変わるものではありません。
いつものように突然町を離れると言い出して、ブリッキーはいつになくしんみりした口調でヒナに言いました。
「これで、この町とはお別れになるかもしれない。だから、君に俺のことを言っておきたいんだ。俺は、自分が誰で、右手にギターを持って目を覚ます前に何をしていたか知らないんだ。でも、何かイメージがある。毎晩、同じイメージが浮かんで来る。俺はその中で波間に浮かんで誰かを探してるんだ。誰か分からない、その人達の無事を俺は祈っている。気が遠くなりかけると、右手が痛んで、俺はブリキの空き缶を握っているんだ。最後の願いは、そのブリキの缶に預けた俺の心を、波が会いたい人達の所へ届けてくれることだった。何だか、今まではずっとブリキの缶に入った俺の心を探して旅をしていた。でも、その旅はもう終わっていい、そんな気がするんだ。」
ヒナの質問に、ター、ピー、エンはいつになく考え深い目をして答えました。
「ぼくはこう思うし、そうあって欲しいんだけど、ブリッキーの心はもう、彼が無事を祈った人達とずっと一緒にいたんじゃないかな、 ちょっと寂しそうだったけど、彼はいつも幸せそうに、穏やかな顔をしていただろう。でも、彼らの心はずっと一緒にいられるけど、もうあの頃の日々には戻れない、それを認めるのが恐かったんじゃないかな。・・ぼくらは一人一人漂って何度も何度も出会ったり思い出したりを繰り返しながら、でも、この同じ時間を一緒に分け合っているんだ。君達に出会って、彼はそう信じられたんだよ。僕たちはみんな、同じ時間を分け合ってるんだ。」
ヒナは、カナが涙を流したのに驚きました。カナはとても我慢強くて、それまで想い出の中の懐かしい名前や、思い出すのが辛い名前も決して口にはしなかったのです。
