原題は
Where Have All the Flowers Gone？
です。
先日、園まりさんのカバー曲のことを書かせていただきました（記事はこちらです）。
そこにも書きましたように、
原曲は、１９５５年にピート・シーガー（Pete Seeger, 1919–2014）さんが作詞作曲し、１９６０年にジョー・ヒッカーソン（Joe Hickerson, 1935–）さんが加筆したものです。
この楽曲、のちにキングストン・トリオ（The Kingston Trio）さんが歌って、大ヒットしました。
歌詞は、次のように始まります。

２番目の歌詞は、
最初の問いの部分が、

に変わり、
６行目の答えのところが

になります。
３番目の歌詞は、
最初の問いの部分が、

に変わり、
６行目の答えのところが
♪ Gone for soldiers, ev'ry one
になります。
４番目の歌詞は、
最初の問いの部分が、
♪ Where have all the soldiers gone?
に変わり、
６行目の答えのところが
♪ Gone to graveyards, ev'ry one
になります。
５番目の歌詞は、
最初の問いの部分が、
♪ Where have all the graveyards gone?
に変わり、
６行目の答えのところが
♪ Gone to flowers, ev'ry one
になり、もとの flowers に戻ります。
当時、多くの人々によって歌われた、反戦歌の一つです。
