I really hope no seniors or juniors google this

Yesterday's heads meeting was probably the best ever. It was inspiring, thought-provoking and kinda reset my mindset.

I was questioned by Matt.
Why am I here?
What am I doing here?
What do I want to achieve here?
Did I come out of obligation?
Did I do it out of commitment?
Why, why, why.
Objectives, aims, achievements.
Conviction, commitment, passion.

I can never tell anyone how I truly feel about being in PACE. (not even this blog post can explain all)
It's full of bullshit(haha, not really lah), and as much as I hate commitment, it is a cca that requires THAT MUCH commitment.
But nevertheless, it's a cca that will change your mindset, for life.
We don't just usher, serve, host vips.
We don't just plan for yeg and agm.
We don't just hold long meetings trying to address issues that never stop coming.
We don't act professional.
We don't pretend we're a highly regarded cca. (okay, maybe we do, lol)

I can't explain. The people in exco are not just ordinary students. Not bastards like those in marketing. We are committed, we know what we've signed up for. We share common goals, we have a mutual understanding, we know how the system works, and we are committed to quality.
That's why working with my exco(okay, generally speaking lah) is so much easier than working with marketing students.
As much as it is dull to other people, it really trains you to be a better individual.

For my case, I haven't really grow, but being in such a cca kinda opened up my eyes. Not just to the real working world, but opened my eyes to the different ways of looking at life.

Being with exco is always inspiring. I never fail to learn something, most of the time. Especially when I'm around Robert or Matt. (urm, as much as I hate how aggressive matt can get)
Matt taught me the importance of attitude, he made me start believing.
I admire his confidence in us, and others. I admire his positivity at accomplishing soemthing that is really near impossible.

I told him my concerns about entering nutrition having no foundations. He said, it doesnt really matter whether I have foundation or not, What's truly important is my attitude, so long I have the right attitude, I wouldnt mind putting extra effort to catch up with others, and I can succeed in anything as long as the right attitude is there. Attitude, effort.

He said, never stop trying. Even if others tell you how tough it is to do blah, how impossible it is to do blah. Experience failure for yourself, at least you KNOW why you can't do certain things, or why you can't accomplish certain things. Experience failure. KNOW why.

He told me not to get into a relationship so easily. He said, save yourself the heartbreak.

He is the first person who genuinely believes in me. He believes that I can achieve more, and I really feel his confidence in me. He knows my issue of low self-esteem, albeit not fully. He believes I can do nutrition and succeed in it.

I'm blessed to have someone like him in my life. And I enjoy looking at things from his perspective. I wish one day, I can have that kind of confidence in myself and in others. And I hope one day, I can inspire people like how he inspires me.
