I’m having second house in Chiba prefecture Pacific Ocean side.
This very ancient house was built in 1781, late Edo period. So he stands more than 243 years.
And I named this house “大丈夫堂 daijoubu-do”, literally translated Big and Strong Hall.
“Daijoubu” has several meanings and usually sounds OK, alright or no problem.
The reason why I named Daijoubu-do is this house is really big and durable and I am always optimistic.
In addition my father’s habit of saying was 大丈夫 daijoubu, it’s Okay.
I bought this old folk house 3 years before.
At first I started cleaning of attic where many agricultural tools are stocked.
Attic
Before
After
No meaning wearing a mask
Then I started DIY of broken or inconvenient places.
Kitchen

After
Bathroom

After
Stair for attic
Before (using ladder)
After (made stairs)
Back door
Before (no entrance there)
After
Made a big garden table from the biggest stump in the garden.
And now I am enjoying building a tree house.
I’m enjoying fishing,
Surfing,
Cooking,
Smoking,
Blueberry cultivation.
etc. every weekend there.
Thank you for watching my blog.
I’m very glad to see you.
Have a nice day!
