I'm doing a free presentation for the Linux Professional Institute next month.

I'm preparing for the presentation by studying a lot about Regular Expressions (正規表現) and the tools which use them.

I'm really only going to use grep and sed, but, especially in my study of sed, I've come across awk quite a bit.

I feel strongly attracted to awk! - even though I understand awk has largely been replaced by Perl.

I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the name! AWK! Sounds cool.

Should I learn more about awk or not?

In Japanese this is called a 贅沢な悩み - a problem so trivial I probably shouldn't be worrying about it.

On a different note, tonight is C&I's first English Discussion session.

We're going to talk about Japanese culture.

I hope everyone is looking forward to it!
