銀河の中にいる！
I am inside the Milky Way!
オーストラリア滞在中のある日
晴れた夜に外に出たら、
天の川と無数の星が空いっぱいに
輝いていました。
One sunny night in Australia, I went outside to see the sky.
It was filled with innumerable stars!
日本ではこんなにたくさんの星を
一度にみたことはありませんでした。
I never saw so many stars in the sky in Japan.
しかも天の川といわれるように、
星が川になって流れているのです！
That night in Australia, there was a river of stars, as the name for this galaxy says, "Amanogawa: River in the sky."
美しくて神秘的で圧倒されました。
そして初めてわかったことがあります。
It was so angelic and mysterious; I was overwhelmed by its beauty.
Then, I realised one thing for the first time.
「わたしは今、遠くにある天の川を
眺めているのではないのだ。
わたしは天の川の真ん中にいる。
わたしは銀河の一部なのだ。」
"I am not looking at the galaxy that exist somewhere far away.
Instead, I am inside the galaxy, and I am part of the galaxy."
だから銀河の進化にわたしも
参加しているのです。
わたしは宇宙の物語を外から
眺めるのではなく、もっとその物語に
貢献していきたいです。
It means to me that I am participating in the evolution of this galaxy.
I will stop looking at the galaxy as if I were outside of it.
And I will contribute to the galaxy in my human form.
