自分が物事をどこから見ているのかを知りたいときは、
まず自分がどこに今居るのかを知る必要がある。
私は、その物が三角形に見えると言う。
ある人は、その物が四角形に見えると言う。
また、ある人は、その物が四角形の中に対角線が見えると言う。
さて、こんなにも違うということは…
「それはなぜだろう？」と自問自答する。
これは、言葉が同じで言葉の定義が違うことと同じだ。
こうやって考えると、その物が四角錐だと分かってくる。
その物を横から見るのか、
下から見るのか、
上から見るのかで、
これだけ違う形に見えるのだ。
そう考えると、自分とは違う人の意見に耳を傾けることは、
自分の立ち位置を知るための良い手段だと思う。
さあ、私は今どこから見てるのか？
If you want to know where you are looking at things from, you first need to know where you are right now.
I say the object appears to be a triangle.
Some say it looks like a square to them.
Others say the object appears to be a diagonal line within a square.
Now, the fact that it is so different...
I ask myself why is that?
This is like having the same word but different definitions of the word.
When you think about it this way, you realize that the thing is a square pyramid.
Whether you look at that thing from the side, from the bottom, or from the top, it looks so different.
In this light, I think that listening to the opinions of those who are different from our own is a good way to know where we stand.
Now, where am I looking at the thing from?
