昔、時間の捉え方が横軸だったころ、過去を思い出しては、
あの時こうすればよかったと後悔する自分がいた。後悔だけなら
まだ良いが…更に自分を責める自分が出てくるのだ。
今は、時間の捉え方が変わり、今の積み重ねしかないと思っている。
今しかないと思えば、過去のことなど存在しなくなる。
人は過去にどうしても囚われるものだが、
実際、思い出す過去は今に存在しない。
それでもたまに思いだす時は、
頭の中でインスタントカメラをイメージしてパチリと写真を撮り、
その時の嫌な思い出も、今この瞬間に笑える思い出に変えるのだ。
思い出として認識するためだ。
今居るところでは、その出来事は起こっていないのだ。
写真を見て思い出して、
感情までそこに持っていかれるのはもったいない。
もちろん良い思い出に感情を持っていき、
幸せに浸るのなら別だが～、たいていの場合
人は嫌なことを思い出して気分を害すことが多い。
私は自分の母との確執が何十年もあり、
幼少期は悲しい思い出ばかりだが、
母が亡くなった後も思い出して、
感情が出てしまうときにこの方法をよく使う。
頭の中のインスタントカメラでパチリと写真に撮ることで、
嫌な感情も今に居る自分が笑える思い出にするのだ。
それは本当に一瞬の行動だが、
かなり自分の今の時間を無駄にしない作業だと思う。
人間の思考で何でも想像できる能力は、
便利なツールを創造することに使うと良いと思う。
一眼レフカメラより性能が良いカメラだ。
In the past, when my perception of time was horizontal,
I would recall the past and regret what I should have done at that time. If it was only regret.

and take a picture of it, turning the bad memories of that time into memories
that I can laugh at in the present moment.
The goal is to recognize it as a memory.
The event did not happen where you are now.
It is a waste of time to look at the photo and remember it,
and let your emotions be taken there as well.
Most of the time, people are offended by bad memories.
Unless, of course, it is a happy memory,
in which case the good memories take over the emotions.
I had a decades-long feud with my own mother,
and I have nothing but sad memories of my childhood,
but even after she passed away, when I remember and get emotional
I often use this method.
By snapping a picture with an instant camera in my head,
I can make the bad feelings into memories that I can laugh about in the present.
It's really a momentary action,but it's a process that doesn't quite waste my time in the present.
The human capacity to imagine anything
we can think of is useful when used to create useful tools.
It is more powerful than an SLR camera.
