ランダムなアメリカ人を対象に、ネット上でアンケートを行いました。ここでは、「トランプに投票をした人」というふうに問いかけましたが、投票をしていない人も、かなり答えてくれています。
答えてくれた人の全部ではありませんが、いくつかを拾って、訳して行きますので、読んでみてください。
なお、かなりの数が集まっていますので、今回は「その１」とし、今後、何回かに分けて発表していきます。

なぜかというと、日本での彼の評判は、ものすごく悪いからです。
私の国では、99%以上の人が、日本語しかできません。
ですので、彼らは、日本の大メディアが伝える内容に浸かっており、そしてそれは、アメリカの大メディアが報道している内容の一部をそのまま流しているだけです。
なので、人々は、トランプという人が、精神的に深刻な問題を抱えていて、ひどい差別主義者だと信じていて、大統領を辞めるべきだと、思っています。

1. I did not vote for Trump but many in my family did and they did so primarily because they wanted to "shake up the establishment" and because they didn't like Hillary Clinton.
2. No, my support for Trump has not grown since the election.
3. No, I don't think Trump is a racist at heart. I think he's a bit of a narcissist and will say or do anything in order to improve his own position; so I think he exploited racial tensions in our country because he knew he could politically benefit from doing so.
4. No Charlottesville is not his fault. While some white nationalists praised his name, racial tensions have been simmering for a long time in this country.
5. Trump's approval rating is around 34% points. He is strongly disliked by many Democrats and Independents, while still holding favorability amongst the majority of Republicans. While many Republicans (especially traditional conservatives) don't like Trump, I think they are willing to put aside some of his personal issues so that he can further an agenda (smaller government, stronger military, tax reform, get rid of Obamacare, reduce corruption in Washington, etc).

I'm not sure if this is some kind of scam or what, but I figure it can't hurt to answer.
1. I voted for Trump for two reasons: he was by far the better choice, and he was a relative outsider to politics. Our politics are infested with too much cronyism and corruption and "politician" should not be a career path.
2. Yes, I still support him 100%.
3. No, Trump isn't a racist. Trump has been dealing with accusations of racism since the year 2000. There is a Youtube video compilation of him refuting these accusations over and over and over and over again. Accusations of "racism" are often made about people on the political right by people on the left who don't like what the right is doing. Lastly, there is not one single piece of evidence that he has acted in a racist manner. None. He may not always say the right things, or know when to not say anything at all, but he's not a racist.
4. No, the "Charlottesville incident" was primarily the fault of those who came with the express intent to violently attack the speakers at the rally. The woman that died was killed by a racist, but that was the fault of the car driver and nobody else. Trump had nothing at all to do with anything that happened in Charlottesville.
5. What I would say to the Japanese (and all audiences, for that matter) is not to believe what you hear in the media. Most of the American media is part of the political left and takes pleasure in spinning events to make them look bad for Trump. Donald Trump is a billionare, he had everything he wanted and more...but he left the lap of luxury behind to take the hardest job in the world with the most scrutiny in the world, and this is one reason I believe his motives are pure. If he were supported (or at least left alone) by the media and he was able to get his agenda passed, it would result in great things not only for the American people, but for our allies such as Japan in the free world as well.

I didn't vote for him. I generally vote either Libertarian or GOP but I didn't care for some of Trump's more populist policies. I voted for Johnson. Since the election I've come around a bit. If the election were held today I would vote Trump. He is doing a much better job than he is credited with. Our economy is finally showing signs of a true recovery after stagnating for Obama's entire time in office. ISIS is nearly eliminated, and we are finally dealing with North Korea's aggressive posturing. He has appointed an excellent conservative Justice to the Supreme Court, and I'm becoming a bit more open to his stance on trade policy. He isn't my ideal President, but he's as close as we've had in my lifetime other than Reagan. As for the ridiculous claims of racism, that is a common tactic of the American left. If they can't win an argument they attempt to silence it with a baseless accusation of racism. Nothing Trump has said or done supports the claim. They claim he speaks in "coded language" that only racists can understand. They can't cite any specific coded messages, or show how they are then decoded, but that doesn't matter to them. I didn't vote for him. I generally vote either Libertarian or GOP but I didn't care for some of Trump's more populist policies. I voted for Johnson. Since the election I've come around a bit. If the election were held today I would vote Trump. He is doing a much better job than he is credited with. Our economy is finally showing signs of a true recovery after stagnating for Obama's entire time in office. ISIS is nearly eliminated, and we are finally dealing with North Korea's aggressive posturing. He has appointed an excellent conservative Justice to the Supreme Court, and I'm becoming a bit more open to his stance on trade policy. He isn't my ideal President, but he's as close as we've had in my lifetime other than Reagan. As for the ridiculous claims of racism, that is a common tactic of the American left. If they can't win an argument they attempt to silence it with a baseless accusation of racism. Nothing Trump has said or done supports the claim. They claim he speaks in "coded language" that only racists can understand. They can't cite any specific coded messages, or show how they are then decoded, but that doesn't matter to them. He's rolled back ridiculous EPA and useless regulations holding down businesses from expanding. He's going to pass Tax Reform and will get to healthcare soon.
