I probably should be going to bed now... But I haven't updated in a while. This week end, I stayed at my Grandparents to make fruit cakes for Christmas time. (They do it this early because some of them have to age a bit.) I had fun making the cakes. We also made minced meat... but it didn't have meat in it at all. It's so good though! Better than the stuff you buy at the store. I enjoyed myself, and I finally got started on my art homework. I just have to finish the research part now. I finally presented my Science project on Friday. It wasn't bad at all. I actually sort of felt comfortable in front of the class because the class wanted us to do our presentation because they didn't want to write the test. So I was happy to help them! Haha! I was still a bit nervous, so even though I read quietly and made a few mistakes, I wasn't embarrassed at all. So I have no worries for tonight! So I can sleep well.
On Thursday night, I decided that I was going to start to learn more about Japan, and Japanese culture. I am determined to learn the language. I have memorized most of the Hiragana characters, and I knew all the Katakana characters before... but I forgot. I also know a few Kanji already! I definitely improved my vocabulary and grammar today. I feel so confident about this. I am self teaching, because I want to surprise my parents! I found some very helpful people on YouTube that have been to Japan and lived with a home stay family. One of them mentioned a very useful website to learn Japanese for free. (Which is the one I'm using.) It makes so much sense and is easy to follow. I feel like I have accomplished so much! I can recognize Japanese characters more quickly now.
I don't know how long it will take me to learn a good amount of the language, but this is something I actually want to learn and continue learning. I really hope to visit Japan one day. That's why I want to learn the language. Not just because of J-Rock, but because the culture is so interesting. Before, I didn't pay much attention to it. But many people have said that if you want to learn the language, you have to learn about the culture as well. I'm going to try and study everyday when I can. Even though I barely know anything, I still feel like I know so much! Haha!
I feel so positive right now. I hope tomorrow will be just as happy as today!
Life is all right! ~
