I left the guesthouse around 6am
ルアンパバーンのバス・ターミナルに行ってヴィエンチェン行きのチケットを買う。
and went to Luang Prabang's bus terminal where I bought the ticket to Vientiane.
このバスもVIPって書いてる・・けど信用してません 笑
Ah man, this bus says VIP too...but I don't trust them haha
オランダ人のカップルと出会って、一緒にバスに乗りました。
I met a Dutch couple and we both hopped on the (VIP wink wink*) bus.
彼らはヒッピーや観光で有名になったチュービングがあるバンビエンに向かうって言ってました。
They told me that they are going to Vang vieng where hippies get together but also
have the popular attraction of "tubing".
山脈に入るとだんだん道路の幅が狭くなって悪化してきた。
The more we get inside the valleys or mountains, the more the road became dangerous and
the road width is getting smaller.
バスが走ってから５時間経過したとこで、止まった。
The bus suddenly stopped after 5 hours of driving
「また故障か？」と聞くと
"Did it break down again?" I asked the (VIP) bus staff.
せいぜい同い年に見える「VIP」バスのスタッフ（？）が
and the bus staff(?) who looks pretty much the same age as me said
「向こうで土砂崩れがあって人が死んだ」と冗談抜きで言う。
"there was a landslide just down there and someone was killed" he had a serious tone.
バスに乗っていた乗客が一瞬静まり返って動揺した。
Everyone became silent and started to get bewildered.
こんな美しい風景の目の前で土砂崩れがあって

別に自殺しようとも思っていない人がそれに巻き込まれて死んじゃうときの実感は
this beautiful landscape in front of you and getting killed (not a suicide)
なんていうか、うまく言葉で伝えられない。
must be..erm.. I can't even describe this feeling.
なんでこの人が死ななきゃいけない？場所と時間が悪すぎたのか・・
Why does this guy have to die? Maybe he was at the wrong place and time...

バスから出てその現場まで歩いた。
I got out from the bus and walked to the incident place.
土砂崩れ。
I can see the landslide.
そしてそれに巻き込まれた車と運転手が崖の下に。
And the vehicle was washed down the cliff with the driver.
割れた車の窓ガラスから人の頭と腕がちょっと見える。ひどい光景だ。
I can slightly see the drivers head and arm through the broken glasses. It's a pretty grimy sight.
あれから５時間立って、（警察・救急車・ヘリが緊急で来て、
The bulldozers and the shovel cars came 5 hours later
事を大きくしないように速やかに行動して死体を持ち去った）
(police/ambulance/helicopter came as an emergency and
ブルドーザーとシャベルカーがやってきた。
acted super fast so that words don't spread and took away the dead corpse)
