So, today I taught a new student in person. He found me on hello-sensei, and contacted me. Moreover, he was not far from where we lived. I was hesitant, I will admit to that. I didn't think I could handle teaching someone in person... having that sense of responsibility I guess. But I went with it with an open mind and heart, and I saw that I could do it. I can teach in person just like I can online, if not a bit better since I was literally in the presence of my student. I am happy I took the plunge and gave my student a free trial lesson today.

I opened a new path for myself it feels like, and I can slowly keep going on the path of challenges and understanding and guide Akira-san through his journey of learning to speak and listen better when it comes to native speakers talking speed.

I don't know how things will go from here, and I am sure many challenges will start unfolding before I even realize. But I hope I can do this. I hope I can guide and teach Akira-san well and make him feel genuinely happy of choosing me to be his teacher.

This gives ma a small idea for my future as a semi-freelance English teacher. I can focus on pronunciation and speaking lessons, and maybe even reading.
