Hinamatsuri, also called Doll’s day or Girl’s day, is one of the Japanese annual festival that prays for the good health for girls. Especially, Hinadan-Kazari which is a stair-typed shelf decorated with dolls is an unprecedent original Japanese culture. The dolls are called Yusoku-Bina and they are dressed up in a costume of the nobles. Each of them are two Odairi-sama, the dolls of the Emperor and the Empress, three court ladies who are helpers in the Imperial Palace, five musician, two Imperial Palace Guardians and three choremen showing various expressions. This set of dolls is gorgeous itself but all the decoration of the furniture such as gold lacquer work are not decoration but are traditional art and master piece of the Japanese culture which completes this Hinadan-Kazari.
