An ancient bronze mirror called Sankaku-buchi Shinjyu-kyo was found at Luoyang in China. The mirror was named for the shape; triangle-trimmed and decorated Gods and Beasts. The mirror is thought to be a kind of the ancient magic mirror and not only used as a mirror but also as a religious object. Luoyang used to be the capital of Wei which is one of the three kingdoms state in the ancient China. The ancient chronicle of Wei said that Himiko, the queen of Yamatai-koku, received one hundred mirrors from China, so it is believed that these mirrors were Sankaku-buchi Shinjyu-kyo. However, not even one mirror was found in China but hundreds were found in Japan. So someone believed that maybe these mirrors were originally made in Japan. Since this was the first time it was found in China, we all looked forward to know about further researches.
