暑く乾燥した日が続き、過去10日で３２℃を超えなかったのは一日だけです。
昨夜はにわか雨が降り火曜日の夜も雨の可能性がありますが、最高気温の予想は３３℃です。
とうもろこしの多くは雄花が出かかっており雨が欲しい所です。
多くの畑で乾燥のストレスが出始めており、もう一週間雨が降らないと収量が下がるでしょう。
ニュースでは家から２４０キロ北西での洪水と小規模な堤防の決壊を伝えています。
今朝、アイオワ州知事は２０の郡に洪水による災害指定を行いました。
農務省が２８日に作付け報告を出すのでトレーダー達はそれに備えています。
とうもろこしと大豆の作付け面積が減ると考える人も居れば、とうもろこしが減り大豆が増えたと考える人もいて、両方が増えたと考えている人も居ます。
報告書が出ると相場はかなり動くでしょうが、どちらに動くかは分かりません。
息子達は麦（冬小麦）の刈り取りをしていますが収量は良いです。
チャドは収量が７０ブッシェル台と考えていますが月曜に最後の積み出しをするまで最終的な収量は分かりません。
今週の写真は麦藁の束、１１５エーカーの大豆畑、花と小さな鞘を付けた大豆、トウモロコシの畝の間です。
今週遅くには医者の予約が入っています。もう大丈夫と言われれば私は仕事に戻り、息子たちは麦わらを集め、草を刈り、とうもろこしを運んで皆忙しくなりそうです。

アイオワ州は去年まで干ばつ気味でしたが、今度は州の北西部で洪水と、上手く行かないものです。
Hot and dry this week for us with today being the only day in the last 10
not over 90F. We received a light sprinkle last night and have another
chance of rain on Tuesday afternoon when the high is forecast to be 97.
Many area fields are getting close to tassel and a rain would be helpful!
Many area fields are starting to show moisture stress and another week without rain will cut yields.
I have also seen several news segments about flooding and small levees breaking starting just 150 miles north and west of our farm.
The Iowa governor declared 20 counties as disaster areas because of
flooding I heard this morning.
USDA will have a big acreage report out on the 28th and traders are
positioning for that. Some believe both corn and beans acres will be lower
while others think less corn and more beans and some thinking there could be
more acres of both. I would say there is a good chance of a sizable move
after the report but I don't know which way!
The guy's finished the wheat cutting on Saturday, yields were respectable,
Chad thought in the 70's but they still have several loads to haul in Monday
to get the final bushels.
Pictures this week are of some bales of straw, looking across a 115 acre
bean field, beans with small pods and blooms, looking between a couple of
corn rows (in the canopy) and plant spacing.
I have a doctor's appointment later in the week and hope to get released so
I can get back to work, the guys have straw to pick up, corn to haul and
mowing to do so I believe everyone will be busy again this week.
