イリノイは、雨の多い一週間となりました。
月曜日は種まきが出来、５エーカーの”泥の穴”を除き大豆の種まきを終えました。
火曜日の朝に雨が降る前には４５０エーカーのとうもろこしも播けました。
チャドは木曜日の午後に台地の畑で種が播けるくらい乾いた場所を幾つか見つけ、金曜日の朝に再び雨が降る前に種まき出来ました。
週末は土砂降りで夜に２８ミリも降り金曜からの合計は７５ミリに達しそうですが、今日の午後（日曜日）も雨になりそうです。
聞けば私たちの倍も降った場所があるので、私たちは幸運でした。
金曜日の朝に排水路の水位を一番低く下げておいたので水路が溢れずに何とかなっていますが、低地の畑、特に排水管を埋めていない畑は水溜まりが出来ています。
明るい話は、ついに気温が上がってきた事です。
ここ二日は２６℃迄上がり、数日続きそうです。 作物は成長を始めています。
週の前半、相場が上がったので、期近のとうもろこし、１２月とうもろこし、収穫時期の大豆を売りました。
値段は希望するレベルではありませんが、何とかなるレベルですし、相場は上がる前にまだ下がるかもしれません。
今週の写真はぬかるんだ畑に入りたくなかったので、あまり良く撮れていません。
枯らした（カバークロップの）ライ麦、見にくいですがライ麦の中に芽を出した大豆、発芽したとうもろこし、とうもろこし畑の眺めと排水管を埋設した大豆畑です。

It ended up being a wet week for us here in Illinois.
We were able to plant Monday and I finished up on soybeans with the exception of a 5 acre "mud hole". We also planted about 450 acres of corn before it rained Tuesday morning.
Chad found a couple of hill farms that were dry enough to plant on
Thursday afternoon before rain started again early Friday morning.
The weekend has been kind of a washout with another 1.1 inches overnight to make our total since Friday morning of almost 3 inches so far and a good chance again this afternoon. From what I am hearing some areas received twice the amount of rainfall that we have so I guess we are lucky.
I had the ditches as low as I could get them Friday morning and so far have kept them in their banks and under control, though we do have a good bit of standing water, especially on low spots and untiled fields.
On the bright side temperatures have finally started to warm up, it was close to 80F the last two days, it looks to remain warm for several more and crops are starting to grow.
Markets were up early in the week and we sold some nearby corn, December
corn and a few harvest beans. While the prices are not what we wanted, we
can live with them and they might get worse before they get better!
Pictures this week are not very good as I did not wade out into the wet
fields! Terminated rye, beans emerging in the rye (hard to see), emerging
corn, looking across a corn field and emerging beans on a tilled field.
