先週も５０ミリの雨が降り、夜は０℃近い日もありました。
畑は湿っていて今週も雨がありそうなので、週終わりまでに畑に入れるか分かりません。
気温は上がりそうで、それは良い知らせです。
川は洪水水位を超えていますが、北イリノイで１５０ミリもの雨が降ったので週半ばまでに５.２メートルまで水位が上がる予報です。
穀物相場は下がっています。
５月とうもろこしは７．７５セント、５月大豆は６．５セント、株式は９００ポイント以上下がりました。
先週は相場が上がった時に売ったとうもろこしを運び、農機具の整備と５つ目の池を作りました。
今週は、除草剤散布と土木工事、大豆の種まきも始めたいです。順調に行くと良いですが。
明日、天気が良さそうなので、明日午後の日蝕では何分かの暗闇を見れそうです。

相変わらず忙しそうなチェットさんです。
皆既日蝕は、各地で一大イベントになったようです。チェットさんもきっと楽しんだ事でしょう。

日食の情報
We received another 2 inches or so of rainfall in the gauge again this week and several nights near freezing. Fields are wet and with a forecasted chance of rain again next week I am not sure we will get in the field by the end of the week. Temperatures are forecast to rise which will help. The river is above flood stage again with more than 5 inches of rain in much of Northern Illinois and is forecast to be 17 feet by mid-week. Grain markets worked lower with May corn down 7 and ¾ cents , May beans down 6 and ½ cents and the stock market down over 900 points.
Last week we hauled in the grain we sold when the market was up, worked on some equipment and just about finished up on my fourth pond this spring. Next week we hope to do some burn down spraying, construction projects and start planting beans, we will have to see if that works out!
We should have good weather for the eclipse tomorrow and will have a few minutes of darkness in the early afternoon.
