先週のイリノイ中部は、週半ばに僅かな雨が降りましたが、平年より気温が高く良い天気でした。
北のミネソタ、アイオワ、ウィスコンシンでは冬の間ずっと降らなかった雪に見舞われました。
スマホの天気を見ると、これらの地域はここ数日雪を示す青色になっています。
明日（月曜日）のイリノイは雨になりそうですがその後は天気が回復し夜は寒くなりそうです。
穀物相場は先週の前半は上がって農家が大豆を12ドルで売る場を提供しましたが、それも長くは続かず、木曜日、金曜日と下げました。
とうもろこしは動きが少なかったです。
今週、農務省が出す植え付け面積予想は良きに付け悪しきに付け驚きをもたらすでしょうか？
コーンベルトの多くは早めの春を迎えているので農家は肥料散布と耕起の機会があります。 農家はとうもろこしを植えるのを好むので、とうもろこしの作付けは減るとというより増えると考える方が納得できます。
もしそうなら、とうもろこしは直ぐに２０セント程下げるでしょう。
ライアンは池を作るのに忙しく、他の者は農機具整備、穀物の持ち込み、その他の仕事が今週も続きます。

毎年３月３１日に農務省はProspective Plantings、植え付け予想を出します。
米国農家は、天気次第で収量が上がる可能性が高いとうもろこしを大豆より好む傾向があります。 さて、今年のとうもろこしの植え付け面積は増えるでしょうか？

去年はとうもろこしの作付面積が大きく増えました。
A nice week of weather for us here in central Illinois with only a trace of rainfall mid-week, and above normal temperatures for the most part. To our north in Minnesota ,Northern Iowa and Wisconsin they are getting the snow that they missed all winter. The weather map on my phone has been blue (snow) in those areas for the last couple of days. We have a good chance of rain tomorrow then nice the remainder of the week with some cool nights forecast.
Grain markets worked higher early in the week which gave producers a chance to sell some $12 nearby beans but that was short lived as they dropped Thursday and Friday. Corn was rather flat and the planting intentions report out next week could be a surprise either good or bad? A large part of the corn belt has had an early spring, giving farmers a chance to apply fertilizer and do some tillage and you could build a case for more corn acres not less as farmers like to plant corn. This could knock the corn market by 20 cents fairly quickly!
Ryan and I have been busy building a pond while the others have been working on equipment and hauling some grain, all those projects should continue next week.
