先週は良い天気が続きましたが暦を見るとまだ２月です！
先週初めは、気温が22℃迄上がり記録を更新しました。
今週火曜日は25℃になる予報ですが、水曜の夜には－6℃迄下がります。
暖かい天気のせいで、1枚か2枚の畑で大豆の種を蒔こうか考えましたが、水曜日は低温になるのでプランターは倉庫に入ったままでしょう。
穀物相場は何も良い材料が無いです。
一週間で3月とうもろこしは16.75セント、5月大豆は34.5セント下がりました。
とうもろこしも大豆も3年ぶりの安値ですが、株式相場は最高値を更新しています。
私達は、引き続き農機の整備と土木工事を進めています。
金曜日からは池を整備していますが火曜日の夜に雨が降って気温が下がる前にほとんどの土砂を運び出せるでしょう。
天気次第ですが、排水路周りの雑草と丘の上にある別荘周りの花畑で野焼きをしようと思います。
今週の写真は、倉庫で折りたたまれた24条植えのプランターでまだ液肥タンクを付ける前の状態です。
チャド達は、タンクを据え付ける前にパレット一杯のホースや器具を取り付け、それも完了したので暖かくなったら試運転できるでしょう。

Weather has been nice, especially if you look at the calendar and it is still February! We set a new record high temperature of 71F one day early last week and this week we could see 77F on Tuesday before temperatures drop to 21F for Wednesday evening. The warm weather has me contemplating plant a field or two of beans but the cold forecast for Wednesday night will keep our planter in the shed, I think! Grain markets just can't seem to find any good news, March corn lost 16 3/4 cents while May beans dropped 34 1/2 for the week. Both are now at 3 year lows while the stock market is making new highs. Needless to say farmer optimism for 2024 is fading fast.
We have been working on equipment and also working on some construction projects, I started a pond on Friday and hope to have most of the dirt moved before we have a chance or rain on Tuesday night when a cold front moves
thru. We also plan to burn some ditch banks and a couple of pollinator plots near our cabin on what we call the hill farm, weather permitting.
Pictures this week are of the 24 row planter folded up in our shop, before the new tank is installed. Chad and crew had pallets full of hoses and other stuff to install before they set the tank on which now is done and ready to try once it warms up and stays warm.
