ケントにとってはセンチュリーコーンの最高の始まりです。
春になっても雪が降る気候は突然、穏やかな良い天気に変わり、10日も続きました。 とうもろこしの種まきは、急速に進みました。
とうもろこしのプランターは畑に突進し、私のような農家は疲れ果てましたが、もう80％のとうもろこしを植え終わりました。大豆の種まきも順調に始まり、私も周りの農家もとうもろこしと大豆を同時期に植えています。(いつもはトウモロコシの後に大豆を植えるのが普通)
ここ数日は優しい雨が降りました。2018年のセンチュリーコーンの素晴らしいスタートにふさわしいです。
（例年に比べれば遅めに始まった種まきですが、天候に恵まれ順調に進んでいます。）

Corn planting was quick this year A cold snowy late spring turned warmer (notice I did not say "warm") & dry suddenly & stayed dry for 10 days. Corn planters assaulted the fields & left farmers like me exhausted but happy 80% of our corn crop is planted. Soybean planting is off to a good start as many farmers including the Locks plant corn & soybeans at the same time.
Gentle rains the last couple of days are exactly what our CC needs to get
off to a great start for 2018 crop.
