Ben Kozlowski came onto the mound in the eighth inning, and he allowed six runs and seven hits with one walk.
After the game, manager Marty Brown said that Ben would be taken off the 28-man active roster on Saturday.


Starter Colby Lewis(8-4) worked eight strong innings, and the Carp defeated the Hokkaido Fighters 3-2 at Sapporo Dome on Wednesday.

Colby allowed two runs and six hits with no walks, while striking out 13.
Closer Nagakawa pitched a scoreless inning, and got his eighth save of the season.



The monthly MVP awards for the month of May were announced by the Central League officials on Tuesday.
Colby Lewis was named the monthly MVP in the category for pitchers, and Yomiuri Giants left fielder Alex Ramirez was named that for position players.

Colby Lewis won four of his six starts, and had a 1.60 ERA in May.
Alex Ramirez received the honor for the six times in his career.

The prize money is no more than 300,000 yen ($2,857).
