"Reincarnation"

Coming back for the D-Ou GP, Yuki Iino reflects on himself in a "Phero Dialogue"

After the big show at Ryogoku, DDT began the "D-OU GRAND PRIX 2023" from November 26th at Korakuen Hall. One of the participants said to be at the centre of attention is Yuki Iino. When the Pheromones disbanded in Shinjuku on October 4th, Iino took some time off in order to "clear out the Pheromones", then he made an appearance at Ryogoku on November 12th.

He declared, "To remove the Pheromones and Sexy from my body, I entered a facility. I have left the facility with no problems! I will definitely win the D-Ou!"

It's finally time for Iino, without his sexiness, to unleash his amazing strength.

His harsh days going through the pheromone removal, and his thoughts ahead of the D-Ou GP ー

Iino had a lot to say.

The shocking truth comes to light!

Iino had a severe case of "Pheromone Sickness"!

You say you've safely had the pheromones removed from your body, but how was your day to day life while that was happening?

Iino:

I was always coming and going and having the pheromones removed, but it was a very tough facility. Here (in the gym) I was doing my personal training job, then going to the facility in isolation to get pheromones removed, then coming back to work... That's what it was like.

About the facility, what kind of facility was it?

Iino:

I don't want to remember. It was so tough.

How did you remove the pheromones?

Iino:

By sitting in seiza.

Sitting in seiza removed them?!

Iino:

I empty my mind and keep sitting in seiza, by myself, with my eyes closed.

That's amazing... You have to do that to remove the pheromones?

Iino:

Yeah. Looks like I had a severe case of pheromone sickness.

There's that kind of illness... You were a member of the Pheromones for about two years, right?

Iino:

That's what the doctor said. "It only took you about two months for you to get the pheromones out of your system!", he said. Then, I became able to take part in the D-Ou GP.

While you were out, did you start to feel like you could take part?

Iino:

In terms of my career, I felt like I absolutely had to take part. When I had the pheromones removed, I wondered what to do next. Going into the second half of November, I was killing myself to get rid of the pheromones. I couldn't think about anything else.

You weren't in that state of mind.

Iino:

I wasn't. But the boss (Sanshiro Takagi) shared a video of Sexy Fitness on Instagram. It was dangerous. I almost remembered everything. I thought, "Social media's scary". If I end up seeing it, I'm like, "How many years ago was this?". Recently, whenever that sort of thing pops up, I'm like, "Oh, crap!", and I scroll away from it. That was dangerous. Boss set a trap.

But, (the Pheromones) were forced to disband...

Iino:

It's so hard. Actually, there was a Sexy acrylic stand in my gym, and I threw it out! Even just looking at it makes me remember. There's already a Yuki Iino (wearing a suit) acrylic stand. If I take off my clothes during a match again, it'll end by doctor stoppage, and I'll have to return to the facility, so I have to make sure that doesn't happen. I have to get it together.

Do you feel like everything's gone blank?

Iino:

I really do. At the Pheromones Trial, it was said that I was manipulated by Danshoku Dieno, but it got me wondering if that was really the case. But, that's why I'm going it alone from now on. It's the reason why I'm just gonna be myself, and I'm gonna be myself no matter what people say. I think it's best if I stick to my own style.

There's a part of you that was brainwashed by Dieno too, right?

Iino:

I think there was. Dieno's in a slump right now. I think he's also losing pheromones during his matches. He's in trouble!

That's how big of a thing it was for the Pheromones, right?

Iino:

It was a big thing. Pheromones was a crossroads. I'm grateful to them, but I was brainwashed. But I'm making my comeback in the D-Ou, so I want to give it my all.

In terms of image, do you think you'll do regular matches like before?

Iino:

I think so. But, it's not interesting if I just do the same things as before. I'm in the sixth year of my career, so it's meaningless if I do what I did when I was in ALL OUT, and I think my fans and myself think so, too. There wouldn't be any progress or change, so I have to consider all kinds of things.

In your comeback match, you face HARASHIMA in the opening matches of the D-Ou GP at Korakuen Hall on November 26th.

Iino:

HARASHIMA was scared of Sexy, but not Yuki Iino. I lost to him in a KO-D Openweight title match (in November 2019), and that was the only time I had a singles match with him. HARASHIMA has been given strength by the birth of his first child, but I have to push that aside. Really, the first match is the most important.

You have to make an impact...

Iino:

I want to make my mark. I think people might be expecting me to strip again. But, that definitely won't happen. I've already moved on from that. But, I've been desperately removing the pheromones, so I've got to start the D-Ou strong, but after that, I'm honestly not thought too much about everything from match to match.

I see. When you were in the Pheromones, Dieno said you were "powering up", but how do you feel about your physical strength?

Iino:

I'm powering up. I'm always training, and on weekends while I'm not having matches, I'm having pheromones removed, then I go to the gym, then go to work, I'm always in that cycle. It's absolutely no good if I lose my strength, so I'm training every day.

From the very beginning, you've had this kind of monstrous strength... do you think you can show a side of yourself that we didn't see while you were in the Pheromones?

Iino:

Yes. As a power fighter, I'm going to show a side of myself you've never seen before.

Before, you said you hadn't thought about it too much, but are there any league matches you're looking forward to?

Iino:

Probably (Kazusada) Higuchi. We're the only heavyweights in A Block. I really want to show everyone what I can do in a heavyweight match. For over two years, I haven't had that kind of collision, because I always became Sexy before I had the chance to do that sort of match. Even in chop exchanges, I was taking my clothes off. In that main event, I wasn't doing an exchange. I'm really looking forward to my match with Higuchi.

You'll be facing off against Higuchi in Fukuoka on December 16th, right?

Iino:

I haven't had a match with Higuchi since I joined the Pheromones. Even in Pheromones vs. Harimau, I didn't go against Higuchi, not even once. I have pride as a heavyweight, so that's probably why I've been training so much. I don't want to lose, and I want to show everyone what I can do as a heavyweight.

I understand. Please tell us your outlook on the upcoming D-Ou.

Iino:

It starts on the 26th, but every single match is important. If I win, I can challenge for the KO-D Openweight Championship, and I want to show the fans that the real Yuki Iino, who has had pheromones removed, has returned, and that I've changed. I want to do fierce pro-wrestling, and show everyone a new Yuki Iino. I'm going to try my best, not as ALL OUT's Yuki Iino, and not Yuki Iino from the Pheromones, just myself, Yuki Iino.
