5月20日、DDT後楽園ホール大会大会を観に行って来ました！凄く楽しい時間を過ごしました！本当に見る価値がある！色々な種類の試合があって、プロレスファンの皆さんが楽しめる興行でした！
On May 20th, I went to see DDT at Korakuen Hall! This show was a lot of fun, and really worth watching! A great variety of matches, with something for everyone!

岩崎選手のパートナーは上野選手だったけど、当日の朝の稽古中、上野選手は怪我しましたから、代わりの選手はガンバレ☆プロレスの翔太選手になった！
Kouki Iwasaki's partner was supposed to be Yuki Ueno, but sadly, Ueno was injured during training on the morning of the show, so DDT had to rush to find a last-minute replacement. Looks like Shota was just hanging around doing nothing, so he was voluntold to take Ueno's place!
プロレスは美しいですね。
Pro-wrestling is beautiful.

A fantastic match! The kind of match where you actually start worrying about the safety of the wrestlers (but in a good way, if you know what I mean). I really hope these guys have a rematch in the future!

勝俣選手にとって、重要な試合でした！最近、勝俣選手は何回も試合を負けちゃって、竹下選手は怒ってきた。。。だから、勝俣選手は自分の能力を見せたかった！今回も負けたけど、竹下選手は勝俣選手を尊敬することが出来た。素晴らしい試合でした！
A very important match for Katsumata! Takeshita had expressed his disappointment in Katsumata's recent losing streak, and questioned his abilities and motivation. Katsumata was determined to prove that he's a valuable asset to ALL OUT, and although he ended up losing (again), he earned a lot of respect from Takeshita in the process! This match was excellent! It was a really good display of what Katsumata's really capable of (which is a LOT).

Takao defeated HARASHIMA (8mins 41s, Gin Tonic -> shrimp hold).
（HARASHIMA選手とKUDO選手の歴史を詳しく知りたい方は両選手のウィキペディアを読んでくださいね！少しだけ英語で説明しますが、とても長い歴史ですから、やっぱりウィキペディアを読んだ方がいいと思います（笑））
「HARASHIMA対高尾」だけじゃなくて、まるで「HARASHIMA対DAMNATION」になってしまった！
しかし、HARASHIMA選手を助けに来た人は。。。まさかKUDO選手と酒吞童子だった！言葉がよく出来ないほどびっくりしました！
HARASHIMA選手とKUDO選手はやっと仲直りしました！信じられなかったけど、とても嬉しかった！
This match surprised me a lot, not necessarily because of what happened during the match, but because of what happened afterwards...
I must admit, at first, I was a little disappointed. Although I like HARASHIMA and Takao a lot, I was worried that this match would see Takao winning regardless of anything HARASHIMA did, because Takao had his mates with him to help him out, and HARASHIMA had nobody. So, seeing Takao's DAMNATION buddies interfering in the match at every single opportunity was kind of annoying at the time. I was hoping for a one-on-one match, and although some interference from DAMNATION was expected, I felt like it had been a little too much. It felt like "HARASHIMA vs. DAMNATION" rather than "HARASHIMA vs. Takao".
However, HARASHIMA being alone was kind of the point. Although HARASHIMA is still considered the ace of DDT, and although he is the current DDT Extreme Champion, he has been completely abandoned by all of his Smile Squash teammates, partly due to his somewhat selfish behaviour of relying on non-Smile Squash guys like Naomichi Marufuji in order to win championships, instead of having faith that his teammates were up to the job.
So, HARASHIMA was all alone, and having to deal with a pissed-off ex-teammate, and all the new teammates of said ex-teammate. HARASHIMA lost, because he was alone, and Takao wasn't.
Then, something entirely unexpected happened. After the match, when DAMNATION were gloating over Takao's victory, and trying to humiliate HARASHIMA in the ring, Shutendouji ran in to save HARASHIMA!
Now, why is this important?
It's quite a long story. But, for fans familiar with their history, this was a really surprising development!
Put very, very simply...
HARASHIMA and KUDO have both been in DDT since 2001, and they held the KO-D Tag Championship together twice. In 2012, the unit Urashimakudo was formed, with HARASHIMA, KUDO, and Yasu Urano. So, they used to get along quite well!
However, at DDT's Korakuen Hall show on February 23rd 2014, KUDO announced his intention to challenge the current KO-D Openweight Champion, who, at that time, was... HARASHIMA. KUDO left Urashimakudo, and formed Shutendouji with Yukio Sakaguchi and Masa (now Masahiro) Takanashi shortly afterwards. From that point, KUDO, having left Urashimakudo on such bad terms, started a fierce rivalry against HARASHIMA.
At the March 21st Korakuen Hall show, KUDO defeated HARASHIMA for the KO-D Openweight Championship. However, HARASHIMA beat KUDO on May 25th in Nagoya, and he got his belt back. The KO-D Openweight Championship belt then enjoyed a brief excursion on Kota Ibushi from February to April 2015, then HARASHIMA got it back again on April 29th. Theeeeeen KUDO got it back again on May 31st. Oh my.
Whenever HARASHIMA and KUDO had singles matches against each other, they were always incredibly fierce battles.
I guess the point I'm trying to get across is, these two lads didn't get along that well. At all. Fans had long since given up any hope that they would ever be on friendly terms again, and had pretty much accepted that HARASHIMA and KUDO would try to beat the shit out of each other on a semi-regular basis until the end of time.
...Which brings us to this match, when HARASHIMA was alone, and almost completely defenceless... and then KUDO ran in with his Shutendouji mates to help HARASHIMA!
The audience was astounded at this, because... well, read that bit above again, that's why. The impossible had happened! Seeing KUDO saving HARASHIMA, and then SHAKING HANDS WITH HIM was a sight that many DDT fans thought they would never see.
Then, my annoyance at the match between HARASHIMA and Takao completely vanished, and was replaced with a sense of excitement and awe, because it all made sense. HARASHIMA had to be alone. HARASHIMA had to be abandoned, because nothing was going to change for him otherwise. Although HARASHIMA is a very strong and talented wrestler, and very popular among DDT fans, in this moment, he had nobody, because he had failed to form the bonds that were needed for a strong and cohesive unit. Basically, HARASHIMA had indavertently pissed off everyone who had been willing to team up with him, because he had been too focused on his own success. However, KUDO, even though he'd been such a fierce rival to HARASHIMA, had enough respect for him to run in and help him when he was at his lowest ebb.
This has been years in the making, and it's a really exciting development for HARASHIMA and KUDO (as well as Shutendouji and DAMNATION)! I'm really looking forward to seeing how things play out!
