今日は、笑顔がとても可愛らしい
１１歳のオールドイングリッシュシープドッグの男の子、 Sくんのお話です。
Today's case is about 11yo, male, Old English Sheep Dog: Mr. S.

お名前を呼ぶとSくんは、ゆっさゆっさとやや小走りに近寄ってきてくれました。
第一印象は、人懐こい、コミカルで愉快な子、家族のムードメーカー？です。
お話をしてくれるか聞いてみると、「いいよ。でも何？」という感じで少し疑われている感じがしました（笑）
I called his name and he almost like trotting to come close to me.
My first impression was friendly, comical and he must be a trouble/peace maker in the family.
When I asked him if I can talk to him, he said "Ok, but why?" He seems to be untrusting me. lol
私：家族のことどう思っていますか？
What do you think about your family?
Sくん（
）：大好きに決まってるじゃん！
I love them, of course!
とても嬉しそうに家族のことを誇らしく思っている感覚が伝わってきました。
He looks very proud and happy about his family.
私：どうして好きなの？
Why?
：僕をすごく大事にしてくれる。
Beacuse they take care of me right.
私：大事にするっていうのはどんな風に？
How?
：お散歩にいっぱい連れて行ってくれるし、僕のことをいつも思ってくれてる。
They take me for a lot of walks and always think of me.
私：お散歩で好きなところはどこ？
Where do you like to go for walks?
：一緒にたくさん歩くの。
I walk a lot with them.
イメージでは、高原のようなひらけた感じのところで植物がたくさん見えます。遠くに山々を望むところです。山の上？という感じが伝わってきます。観光地のような感覚で普段行くところではなく、旅行かまたは遠出した時の様子です。
I got this image of a huge field with a lot of plants around. I can see montains in the far back ground. Maybe the top of a mountain? I feel this is not a regular walk but he came here as a family trip or something.
私：普段はどんなところにお散歩に行くの？
Where do you usual go for a walk?
：（映像を送ってくれました。）
(He sent me images.)
アスファルトの道の端をSくんがお鼻を使って匂いを嗅ぎながら歩いている様子です。トコトコと真剣に嗅ぎながら歩いています。いつものお散歩道なのでしょうが、何か違う匂いはないかしっかりと確認しながら歩いています。
He is walking on a sidewalk and sniffing seriously. This must be his regular walk route but he intendedly sniffs to investigate if there is any unusual smell out here.
私：「僕のことをいつも思ってくれている」っていうのはどういうこと？
What do you mean by "always think of me"?
：僕の体調は大丈夫かとか、どこか痛いところはないかとか、いつも気にしてくれてる。
They always make sure to know how I feel, if I have any pain... They always pay attention to me.
私：優しいご家族だね。
You have a very caring family.
：そうでしょ？僕のこと大好きみたい。僕も（家族が）大好き！
Right? They love me. I looooove them too！
家族のことをとても誇らしく思っていて、そして、愛されていることに感謝している気持ちが伝わってきます。
I feel he is very proud of his family and know that he is loved which he appreciates deeply.
私：体調はどうですか？
How do you feel nowadays?
：なんともないよ。
No worries.
本人は笑顔で『心配ない』というシグナルを送ってきます。ご家族が自分のことを愛するあまり、考えすぎて心配している、と思っているようです。
He keeps sending me the feelings of "There is nothing to worry about." He thinks his family loves him so much that they worry about him too much.
私：もう聞くまでもないのだけれど、今、幸せですか？
I guess it's a liitle silly to ask you this but, are you happy now?
：当たり前でしょ！
Obviously!
私：どんな時に幸せを感じるの？
When do you feel happy?
：家族が僕を見て笑顔の時。僕に「かわいいね、面白いね、長生きしてね」って話しかけてくれてる時。
When they look at me with smile and when they tell me "you're so cute and funny. Live long, ok?"
私：何かしてほしいことはある？
Is there anything you want them to do?
：もっと遊びたいかな。最近は僕のことを心配しすぎてるのか知らないけど、ぱ〜っと遊んでないんだよ。もっとたくさんはしゃぎたい！
Hmmm, I want to play with them more. I think they're worried about me too much so I don't get to play with them as much. I want to play MORE!
とっても無邪気にはしゃぎ回る魂を持っている子で、１１歳とは思えないほどのエネルギーを感じます。身体的にはもうすぐ１１歳とのことですので、現実的にどの程度の体力があるのかは分かりませんが、気持ちとしては遊びたい思いが強いようです。
He has a young, energetic and innocent soul. His soul energy is not like 11yo dog's. However, I understand his physical age is 11 so I don't know how much energey he actually has in real life. He is just telling me that his mind is playful and has a lot of energy for play.
私：遊んでいる時に、疲れてきて休憩が欲しくなった時のサインを頂戴？ご家族がこうなったときは休憩しようってわかるように。
Can you give me a clue to let your family know when you need rest while playing?
：座るよ。動かなくなる。だって休憩だもん。しばらく休まなきゃいけないかもしれないけど、僕は大丈夫だよ。
I'll sit down. I stop moving. I might need some time to rest but I'll be fine.
ここで、やはり若い頃に比べると持久力が落ちている様子が伺えました。年齢相応に息切れしやすくなって休憩も時間をとります。しかし、それでもお外で休憩しながら座っていることが好きなようです。お外の空気に触れているのが気持ちいいようです。彼の犬種のせいもあるのでしょうかね。
Here, I started to feel that his endurance is reduced. He is now easier to get tired age appropriately and needs some rest. However, he still likes to stay(sit) outside. He loves to feel the fresh air. This must be because of his breed as well.

お話をした後のSくんの印象/ My impression of him after AC
若々しく、まるで子供のような可愛らしさのある子だと思いました。自分の家族のことを自分の自慢で誇りに思っています。家族のことが大好きだという思いが強く伝わってきました。
He has young energy and child-like cuteness. He is so proud of his family and I felt his tremendous love for them.
人懐こいですが、ご家族以外の方のことは少しどうでもいいと思っている節もあり、とにかく、家族が一番で家族が幸せであれば自分も幸せです。ご家族も彼のことを家族の中心と思っているのではないでしょうか。
He is friendly but, at the same time, he doesn't really care about anyone other than his family. As long as his family is happy he is happy too. I think his family will admit that he is the center of this family.

何をするにもかなり慎重な性格なので始めに少し疑われたというのもとてもSっぽいと思いました。
The first impression was exactly what he is.
He is very cautious so he didn't trust you at first is very much like him.
お散歩で好きなところについて
Regarding his favorite walks
Sを連れて家族みんなでいろんなところへ旅行に行きました。お花がたくさん咲いている大きな公園、山の上の観光地なども覚えていてくれているんだと思います
We took him on a lot of family trips. A huge park with lots of flowers blooming around, tourist site of a top of mountain... he must remembers all
普段のお散歩では、匂いを嗅ぐのに必死です！Sにとってお散歩＝マーキングという感じです。
For regular walks, he always sniffs a lot! To him, walks = marking his teritory.
何かして欲しいことについて

お散歩に行っても昔ほどは距離を歩けないんですが、S本人はどこまでも歩いて行こうとします。
たくさん歩いた日は帰ってからすごく疲れているので、家族は疲れる前に切り上げようとするのですがSの気持ち的にはまだまだいけると持っているようです。
He can't walk as long anymore but he tries to walk much more.
When he walks a lot he gets very tired so we try to cut his walk shorter but I can feel he is willing to go for much much further.
確か今年の夏くらいに、私との散歩中に初めてSが座り込んで動かなくなったことがありました。その場で１５分ほど休憩して「あとちょっとでお家だから頑張ろう！」と言ったらやっと立ってくれました。今後も疲れたら座って教えて欲しいです
I think it was this summer, he sat down during his walk and stopped moving. He needed to sit there for about 15mins and I said "Our home is very close, can you go now?" then he finally stood up. I want him to tell me again like this when he needs rest.

確かにSはもうおじいちゃんなのに子供っぽいところも多く、家族のことが大好きです
私たち家族もSが来てからは完全にS中心の生活を１１年送ってきました。
家族以外の人のことは少しどうでもいいというのもとてもSっぽいです
他の人や犬も嫌いではないですが、興味もないという感じです。
He acts like a child despite being an old guy now and he loves his family
We admit that we've been living our lives for 11 years catering his needs, wants and schedule.
I agree he doesn't really care about others. He doesn't hate people and other dogs but he isn't really interested either
