Yet another cold day in Japan.

It's grey and gloomy outside and simply depressing.

So what does Kai want to do on the day like today?

"Shhhhwing, of course!"

"What?"
"No, not going home."

"I am playing."
"I AM PLAYING!"

"No, not cold."
"NOT COLD!!!!"

G had an epiphany -- to clean the closet in the study finally (full of his geek stuff).

Kai decided to take this opportunity to hole up.

"I love this cave..."

"Don't bother me. I am hibernating."

Today was the last day of the New Year's holidays.

When I got up, G was already busy preparing some English breakfast.

Oh Kai was so happy.

He is seriously in love with eggs.

"Yummy~!!!"

"I am too excited to sit down!"

By the way, you may have noticed that his fringe is quite bit shorter - yes, my fault. I went a bit crazy with my scissors and now he looks like a boy from 1950s...

"Now I am going to take a nap."

"Sing to me, Mummy!"
"Not that song!"

"Louder, please."

Today started as usual with his favorite chore of watering flowers.

He often says things like "Ohana Sugoi Kawaii Ne (These flowers are so pretty)" and likes patting them.

So, thanks to Kai, we got still some pretty flowers.

After this chore, off he went to the park with his new bike.

Even on his way, he likes to admire flowers on the streets.

At the park, he blew some bubbles (thanks Nain and Taid!).

After exploring the park for a couple of hours, I guess he got tired because suddenly he took the beached-whale position.

Yep, the thing in the middle is Kai.

"I don't want to go home."
"I don't want to be picked up."
"I don't want to go outside (but you already are)."

"I don't want to walk."

"I don't want to stay in the park."

So what do you want to do?

"NOOOOOOO!!!!!"

So I picked him up, started to walk home while pushing his bike, then he saw another park and demanded to go in.

"Now I am sorta happy.''

Luckily, G came home early today.

He is studying the new Jamie Oliver book I gave him as a Christmas present.

Good Job, Me!

Yet another cold day in Japan, and of course, Kai has to go outside.

It is seriously cold out, but he doesn't care.

I am now convinced that he is too fat to feel cold.

Sort of like a baby whale or a baby seal.

"I am as cute!"

Found a tattered, abandoned ball to play with.

A future football star?

"I am not cold!"

Following this park visit and a big lunch, Kai was found asleep on the sofa.

Wait, doesn't this remind you of something...?

A beached whale...?

A tuna?

Something that swims...

Kai loves stickers.

He is rather obsessed.

He HAS TO put them on his face - HAS TO HAS TO!

Of course, I am not complaining since when he has a sticker on his lips, it just means some quiet time for me.

"I am dead serious. Don't mess with me."

Kai had the most amazing Christmas morning - he had tons of gifts from so many people - thank you very much Yui &Ger, Traci & Ron, Huw & Sonja, and Nain & Taid!

I am afraid that Kai went a bit insane after getting all these great presents and consuming a couple of chocolates - which is usually forbidden around here.

So, after the presents-opening-session, we went out for a bit of bike-practices.

Kai charging off.

So happy.

Then a bit later, with guests, we had this amazing...

Turkey!!! 8 Kilos!

Following the driving-in-the-snow adventure, G is proving himself as a super star.

We just came back from Arai where we had a wonderful mini-vacation as well as a bit of adventure.

Just getting prepared for a long journey.

Really happy kiddo with a bag full of his favorite cookies (yes, we are bad parents).

Kai was so excited to see the snow.

So much so we had a hard time persuading him to move from this bit.

We have a mountain full of snow over there!

"Woooow!"

"Oh I love this stuff!"

"Let me taste it..."

"I cannot have enough of it!"

"My first sledge!"

Daddy stole Kai's sledge.

So.

We were having a great time, until our last day when a major blizzard hit the area.

Seriously, it was even hard to walk.

Then, our snow chain broke on us, and we had to buy a new pair, and then we found out that the most of highway was closed because of too much snow....so it took us about 10 hours to drive home. G was a super hero throughout this nightmare.

Meanwhile, Kai had such a great time that he is reliving the experience of the snow.

We've got loads of things to do this weekend.

First thing first.

We had to ice the Christmas cake.

Kai was more than happy to help Daddy (with his index finger).

"Christmas cake! Christmas cake! Christmas cake!" yelled a kid on a sugar-high.

The boy in awe.

And on Sunday:

Daddy showed Kai how to play a computer game.

An attentive student with bad hair.

Really focused (Notice the tongue?).

Later in the day...

Grandpa came to visit with a seriously huge crab!

Kai's very first crab experience, and he fell in love with it!

Thanks grandparents Japan!

Kai was a naughty monster today.

He pushed me a step closer to insanity.

He started his day by climbing the bookshelf.

Then, yelled "Help Mummy!" and after getting down with my help, climbed back to the same place again - repeated this process several times for the whole morning.

Then when we finally managed to go outside...

He got really interested in the drain in the park - that's fine...

Until he decided to walk into the water.

Did I tell you that it was a very cold day?

That it was really freezing?

And you know what he did after this?

He sat down in the water.

All happy.

Then, when he finally came out of the water (mind you, I did ask/order him to come out of the water many times, in vain), he decided to roll aronud in the flowerbed. No picture of those scenes since I was busy ushering him out of the park...
