Since G started to give Kai some swimming lessons on weekends, Kai got really into...well, swimming caps.

Just tonight, while I was cooking dinner, Kai was found drawing on the dining table like this.

An octopus?

"Are you drawing an octopus?"

"No, but I can look like one."

Every Sunday morning, Kai likes to attack daddy.

It must be a boy thing.

He is just so happy when he is playing around with Daddy.

"Now, let me see if I can fit into the Lego box..."

Now he is stuck.

He is seriously struggling to get out here.

G is observing the whole scene (and enjoying).

After safely getting out of the box, Kai decided to use it as a hat now.

Later in the day...

Kai was found asleep in the backseat like this.

Quite amazing.

.

Kai has been really into drawing these days.

His favourite subjects are fish, cars, snakes and happy/sad faces at the moment.

Famously "Oya-baka" daddy thinks Kai is going to be an artist (ha ha).

Well, it has been ages!

We have been doing fine - we got a couple more guests after Karen and Tim left for Australia - this time my friends Rose and Joel from Amsterdam. Kai was naturally quite excited to have them here, and once again, devoted his life in pestering them ALL THE TIME. Thank you Rose and Joel for putting up with him!

Happy couple Rose and Joel.

Other than that....

Nothing much to really report.

The baby No. 2 has been quite active - he has been punching and kicking around a lot - and Kai asks me about 100 times a day "Mummy, are you having a baby? WHY?"(If you have any good response to the latter part of the question, let me know.)

Here, he is eating a Kiwi.

Still growing - now about 93 cm and 16.5 kilos!

G has been baking again - this time a bread pudding (he wanted to get rid of some old french bread).

To compete, I baked a banana bread (I had to do something with those darkening bananas). In this picture, it's already half eaten (by me and my kiddo number 2).

It's finally getting a bit warm in Japan (about time!), and Kai has been running around (in this case, just flopping down) half naked.

Notice the England football pants? Yep, he is gearing up for the World Cup, too.

Still into playing with cars and trucks.

Or just drawing naked.

Yep, we have a little naked artist in the house.

Other than that, it's the same old same old....

Visiting parks...

spending hours and hours in the sand pool...(this particular day, he got bitten by an ant and got really panicky - after destroying an ant nest, that was.)

or

simply passing out while eating.

We are doing well!

One really concentrated child in our house.

"Let's eat this fish, duckie.''

Can you see his bottom lip?

He is making a small fish to feed the duck.

"This is the duckie!"

One happy kiddo.

Dear Uncle Huw and Auntie Sonja,

Thank you very much for the hat!

Another Saturday, and of course, that means only one thing in this house.

Pancakes!

"I am flipping a pancake!"

"Let me see..."

"Yummy!!!"

We have a couple of guests from England at the moment - Karen and Tim.

Needless to say, Kai is overexcited and has been pestering them around the house...

"Can you play with me, Karen?"

"Why don't I put this card on your nose?"

"Oh, we can do it together!"

"Now, Tim can put another one on my bit toe..."

Thanks Karen and Tim for playing with him!

After tonight's dinner, G taught Kai how to clean the Kitchen and dishes.

A very intensive session is going on ...

"A kiss!"

"Soon, I will be doing all the dishes!" (I wish)
