After yet another busy summer day.
Is Kai watching TV? Chilling out on the sofa?
No, he was passed out completely - seriously, this kiddo can sleep in any position.
Dead unconscious.

So, there was a reason why we had to do the thorough cleaning of the balcony the other day.
So that we can get this water playset (early birthday present from Nain and Taid - Thanks!) and a pool out.
Quite big and impressive.
Needless to say, Kai didn't come back inside the house for a couple of hours after this.
Once again, thanks Nain and Taid!
P.S. we also updated our main homepage with some pictures from the second quarter of this year (about time, I know!).
Kai loves books - but his current favourite is Mr. Bump.
After the morning shower, a naked book lover.
"BUMP!!!!"
Today, Michiko and Miyu-chan visited us for lunch.
We hadn't seen them for ages - since February? - and Kai decided to make some pizzas to welcome the guests.
One dynamic naked cook.
"I am making a special dough!"
Michiko and Miyu-chan (who looks very suspicious of the dough-making-process), waiting. Even though there were some accidents like Kai dropping the dough to the floor and so on, the result was once again amazing. So much so, there is no picture of the actual pizza here.
After lunch, we had to burn off those calories...
So, Kai and Miyu-chan were found in a ballpond.
Kai loved getting buried.
Thank you very much for coming, Michiko and Miyu-chan! We had a great time!
This Saturday, we had a serious job waiting for us....cleaning, that was.
First, start with the bathroom.
Don't forget the mirrors.
Now, windows and the balcony.
Needless to say, Kai had such a blast!
Finally, we are back from our (much needed) vacation in Phuket.
It was rainy season in Thailand, so we had many many showers and a couple of seriously nasty days. But because of it, the hotel as well as the island was quite empty, which suited us very well.
The place we stayed (J.W. Marriott Phuket Resort ) was amazing.
They had a pretty good kid's pool, where we spent most of our time, wheather permitted (Kai and G - who claimed that he was trained in the North Sea and used to swim in rain anyway - didn't care about the rain/storm that much and mostly stayed inside the pool when everybody else evacuated).
Kai was in love with the pool - he was just so happy that he could spend the entire day inside the pool if he wanted.
He could even slide into the pool!
One happy kiddo.
and when he got tired, he could just chill out like a baby whale (next to the very authentic Mummy Whale - don't worry I spared the photos here).
Or We could just visit the beach in front of our hotel. Due to the season, the waves were a bit too high and rough for us to go into the water, but still, the view was amazing.
Besides, Kai wasn't really interested in the water - he just wanted to play with the sand.
Or get buried in it.
We recommend the hotel for anybody with small kids (but obviously, you cannot expect a really authentic Thai experience there). Even the restraunts were kids friendly - here, Kai is playing inside a small shelter inside the main restraunt.
They also had a Kid's club with various programs for youngsters.
We hired a babisitter for a few days so that we could escape from him (the purpose of the trip?) - and he had a great time at the club with her - even got tatooed!
Other than that - we joined a sea kayaking tour (we wanted to do a lot more stuff like jungle tours and hiking tours, but the moment they found out I was pregnant, I was practically banned from joining any of them).
Hence, this was the only available tour for us. Basically, we visited a few small islands and explored some caves with bats/crabs/snakes.
Kai got a bit scared of the bats and the complete darkness in the caves. This is the expression after coming out.
A rare family shot.
Then we had a bit of play time on the beach.
Kai and G made a huge castle with forts and everything!
The water quality wasn't great on this side of the island, but Kai didn't care. He was so happy splashing around.
Over all, we had a wonderful vacation.
Now, back to the reality...(and oh yes, I gained about 2 kilos in a week!)
Today was so hot/humid - finally a proper Japanese summer day!
So what did we do?
Well, a naked boy in the park...
playing with fountains...
even sitting on one...
Soaked wet and happy!
BTW, he always says "mountain" instead of "fountain.'' It's one of those words he is completely mixed up with.
The problem with this place is that he LOVES to get completely naked - you have no idea how difficult it was for me to persuade him that it was absolutely necessary to keep his underpants on. We don't want him arrested quite yet...
"Look, a soccer ball! I am already a world cup fan!"
"I love eating it better though!"
Sometimes, Kai likes to sleep in a very strange position.
Like this:
He is actually dead asleep in this position.
Not doing the Child Pose, honest.
A very nice Wednesday.
What do we do? We headed out to the near-by park.
"Let me see..."
"I want to taste bubbles..."
"I am driving a bus! Going shopping..."
"Beep Beep!"
After talking to Grandpa and Grandma on the telephone last night, Kai had been demanding to see them non-stop, so very kindly, they came to visit.
Very kindly I said - because they came with a little chocolate cake!
"Hmmm,,,is this all for me?"
Afterwards, Kai gave Grandpa a little lesson on art and drawing.
For dinner, to compensate for the earlier cake-consumption, Kai had only a plate full of beans and a bottle of Volvic. He wasn't thrilled.
(No, he had a very nice salmon and potatoes, really, HONEST!)
