今週の注目はアルバムチャートで1位を獲得しているJames Morrisonです。今回シングルヒットしているYou Give Me Somethingを聞きましたが、アコースティックギターの優しい調べにハスキーなJamesの声が見事に溶け合ったソウルナンバーで、一気に心を奪われてしまいました。声は違いますが個人的にはJames Taylorあたりのサウンドを思い出しましたし、最近なら声とかの感じからJames Bluntあたりに似ているかもしれません。
James MorrisonはUKのラグビー出身の21歳です。UKの音楽番組の出演から火が付いてデビューシングル「You Give Me Something」が5位のヒットになり、今回アルバムチャートまで制しました。ルックスもそうですが、James Blunt同様に世界的なスターになりそうな予感がしました。とにかくこのナンバーだけでも今年を代表する曲になりそうです。
