久し振りにインドの友人からジョークが届いた。題して「TWINS(双子)」だ。
The other day my neighbour, who is blonde, came running up to me in the driveway jumping for joy !
I didn't know why she was jumping so excitedly but I thought, "what the heck", and I starting jumping up
and down along with her.
先日、隣に住むブロンドの女性が嬉しそうに飛び跳ねながら私の方に向かってきた。私には彼女が飛び跳ねるほど嬉しい理由が分からなかったが、まぁ、それはどうでもいいかと考え、彼女に合わせて私も飛び跳ねることにした。
She said, "I have some really great news!"
I said, "Great. Tell me why you're so happy."
「とっても素敵なニュースがあるの」と彼女が言い、私は「それは良かった。どうしてそんなに幸せそうなのか教えてくれるかい」と返した。
She stopped jumping and breathing heavily from all the jumping up and down, told me that she was pregnant. I knew she'd been trying for a while so I told her, "That's great I couldn't be happier for you !"
彼女は飛び跳ねるのを止めると息を整え、妊娠したことを私に告げた。彼女がそれを望んでいたことを知っていた私は「本当に良かったね。こんなに嬉しいことはないよ！」と彼女に言った。
Then she said, "There's more!"
I asked, "What do you mean there's more?"
She said, "Well, we are not having just one baby. We are going to have TWINS!!"
「実はまだあるの」と彼女が言った。「まだあるってどういうこと？」と私が尋ねると、「うん、私たちには一人じゃなく双子(TWINS)が生まれて来るの！」と彼女が答えた。
Amazed at how she could know so soon after getting pregnant, I asked her how she knew. She said.... (You're going to love this!)
妊娠して早々にどうして双子だと分かったのか不思議に思い、「どうして双子(TWINS)だと分かったんだい？」と彼女に尋ねると、彼女はこう答えた（きっとあなたもここが気に入るはずだ）。
"Well, that was the easy part. I went to Wal-Mart and they actually had a home pregnancy kit in a TWIN-pack. Both tests came out positive !!!!!"
「それは簡単な話なの。ウォルマートに『TWINパック』の妊娠検査キットがあったの。それを試したら、二つとも陽性だったのよ！！！」
