The policeman got out of his car and the teenager he stopped for speeding rolled down his window.
"I've been waiting for you all day" the Cop said.
The kid replied, "Well, I got here as fast as I could."
When the policeman finally stopped laughing, he sent the kid on his way without a ticket.

警察官がパトカーから降りてきて、彼がスピード違反で捕まえたばかりの少年が車の窓を下げた。
「お前のことを今日一日ずっと待っていたんだよ」
と警官が言うと、少年が答えた。
「ええ、そうだと思ったんで大急ぎで来ました」
しばらく大笑いしていた警官は笑い終えると違反切符を切らずに少年を放免した。

A lorry driver was driving along on a country road. A sign came up that read "Low Bridge Ahead". Before he realised it, the bridge was directly ahead and he got stuck under it. Cars were backed up for miles. Finally, a police car arrived. The policeman got out of his car and walked to the lorry's cab and said to the driver, "Got stuck, hey" The lorry driver said, "No, I was delivering this bridge and ran out of diesel!"

大型トラックの運転手が田舎道を走っていた。やがて「低い橋梁、頭上注意」という標識が出てきたが、運転手がそれに気付く前にトラックが橋の下にもぐり込んでしまい、立ち往生してしまった。そのせいで後ろに何マイルも車が渋滞し、そこにパトカーが到着した。警官はパトカーから出てくると運転手のところに行き、「動けなくなってしまったんだな」と声を掛けたが、運転手はこう答えた。「いやいや、違うんですよ。この橋をここまで運んで来たんですが、ガス欠でトラックが動かなくなったんで」。
