「生意気な答」

インドの友人からジョークが4つ届いた。いずれも "Smart Arse Answer" というタイトルが付いている。辞書によると「生意気な答」とか「思い上がった答」という意味のようだが、なかなか斬れ味あって憎めない。

It was mealtime during a flight on a British Airways plane.
"Would you like dinner?" the flight attendant asked the man seated in the front row.
"What are my choices?" the man asked.
"Yes or no", she replied.

生意気な答①

英国航空の飛行機が食事時を迎えた。
「ディナーは如何ですか？」とフライト・アテンダントが最前列に座っている紳士に訊ねた。
「何が選べるんだ？」と紳士が訊ねると、
「食べるか、食べないかです」と彼女は答えた。

A lady was picking through the frozen Chickens at a Woolworth store but she couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a passing assistant,
"Do these chickens get any bigger?"
The assistant replied,
"I'm afraid not, they're dead."

生意気な答②

スーパーマーケットでご婦人が冷凍チキンを探していたが、家族に適した大きいものが見付からない。そこで、通りかかった店員にこう訊ねた。
「もう少しチキンが大きくならないかしら？」
店員が答えた。
「無理だと思いますよ。もう死んでますからね。」
